U.S.A. Texas

Hello All!! I know it is VERY early to be thinking about this but the process to get in takes quite a long time. I wanted to make a thread to help us all get through the application process together, share problems, feelings, etc. :)

Sounds like ALOT!!! Same boat I am in!!!! SO much to do in so little time LOL. I got in HPRS 1202 for Maymester. This summer I will take History 1 and Government 1 and also Pathophysiology (since I am also considering applying at MVC) I am taking the HESI next Friday. I still need shots and CPR. So I guess I am looking at applying in January! Wish I could apply in July but I do not think I will have enough points and my shots and all that by that date :( Good Luck

Anyone know if we need to get our shots in order to take the HPRS 1202 and 1204? And what shots if needed?

No, you can take the class without shots but if you are going into the field, you'll need to have all the shots lasted on the app for nursing completed our near complete before clinicals.

No you do not need the shots. I just took HPRS 1204 and I am currently enrolled in HPRS 1202 and I do not have my shots just yet.

I just read the post above, unless things changed in last few weeks. I just never heard anything about shots at all in HPRS 1204. And I am taking 1202 online.

I am actually applying via a work program with El Centro. If I don't get in I plan to take the remains bridge classes and then reapply. As of now, I have 8 of 14 bridge classes, 4.0 on required classes, 3.75 on support classes, and 7 of 12 on hesi. Totally pts is 28.

The shots are not required to take either class but if anyone is going into the health care field, you'll need those shots and for shots like Hep B, one would need to be close to done before clinicals.

Where is everybody at, at this point? I am currently taking HPRS 1202 and summer 2 I will take history 1 and government 1. I am going to retake HESI Aug 8, trt to get shots, cpr ,and all that good stuff over by summer and take 12 hours in Fall and one class for winter. Hoping I will be ready my January!

Wanted to see where you guys were at....

I'm looking into applying for Fall 2015, I'm taking A&P and ENG 1302 right now, after this semester I'll have the prerequisites and might end up retaking Psych 1301 (I made a C) to better my GPA. I have not signed up to take the HESI A2, I just recieved my study book in the mail today actually! I'm studying with the HESI Admission Assessment Exam Review by Elsevier, I heard this book was almost identical to the actual exam...this book will be my best friend for the next few months! I'm hoping to take the HESI 2-3 times before I submit the score I want (if it takes that long). This summer I'll be taking my two government classes, and in the fall I'll be taking the two HPRS classes (1202 and 1204 to give me that 5 points) and if E.C. doesn't accept my Dance appreciation (DANC2303) instead of Art App. and public speaking (speech1315) instead of fundamentals of speech (speech1311) then I'll take those two classes. I need to start on my Hep shots and get some that are more than 10 years old re-done, get CPR certified, get my transcripts from CC sent over, and alot more! So much to do!!

El Centro won't count Dance for Art Appreciation, the name and course number has to be an exact match for it to count.

I'm having trouble signing up for the Hesi A2 on the evolve website! Whenever I click on the student access link under 'my evolve', it takes me to a page, and I clicked 'register for distance testing exam' and there is something I have to fill out, and there is a part asking for a Dept. ID (which idk what that is) and at the bottom there is a drop down bar that says 'Exam*' and it says there are No exams......help!!

How is everyones application going so far? Just got back from taking the HESI, I got an 80% english composite 72% Science 60% on math :/ definitely retaking it for the A&P and math portion! Wasn't expecting that many conversion/metric questions. Besides the Elsiever study guide what else do y'all reccomend to help with the HESI? Immunizations are done, need to get my physical, flu shot, and my cpr is taken through my HPRS class.

Those are about the same scores I made on HESI :( I am retaking October 11th and I always have a date for Dec 20 just in case. Very scary!!!

I am currently taking Eng 1302, Art 1301, history 1302, Govt 2306. Plan on taking tech writting or lit winter term, I will have very few classes left after that. Just hoping I pass HESI so I can apply in January :/

How is everyone is doing ???
