El Centro ADN 2012

Hello,

Who here has applied or will apply to El Centro's ADN program for spring 2012 and if so, what are your points? I am about to turn in my application and I have 17 points.

I agree with tscribner that the HESI holds a high degree in their decision process. Not only does it increase your overall points, it's a decision maker when there's a point tie. I tell everyone to study and study harder for that test. You can earn almost half of your points in 4 hours compared to semesters worth of schooling for a few "pickles"...that's just my two cents...

At my info session they said if your gpa is below 3.65 then you are pretty much out no matter your hesi scores

icme2, I took the HESI 5 times to get the scores I wanted. The grammar part got me everytime. But I finally got on the last time. Now we all embark on a new adventure. Nursing school. I am so ready. I think I want to work in the OR room. I work at presby dallas and spend a lot of time in the OR. I have been offered the opportunity to sit in on a case or two when I get the time to do so. That might seal the deal or break it for me.

@tsbner. I took the HESI 5 times as well. And like you, it was the grammar. Made 100 twice in AnP, 96 and 98 in math but that English gets me every time until the 5th time when I made a 98 in grammar. It sounds like you have a great opportunity there. I wish I had that...

...so no one knows if we meet for both Tuesday the 29th and Wednesday the 30th? Or just Wednesday only? I better call tomorrow and post if here if no one has an answer.

Hello happy people! I called Admission office in regards to the conflicting dates, she said we will be getting an email to clarify when our orientation date will be.

Thanks iCme2. I have been trying to reach someone there with no answer. Now we play the waiting game for a orientation date. lol. This is still so exciting tho.

Yeah I got it. It says I'm not qualified because I did not submit a transcript outside of dcccd. I actually transferred it to dcccd but the nurse office want me to submit to them too. So sad!! I thought I can make it since I have 16 pt and 47x hesi score :"(... Look like I cannot study with u guys this semester

thomasphan, truly sorry about what happened to you. They are so particular about these technicalities. You'll do fine on the next session. Be sure your physical forms and other records are up to date for the next round. Gl

Confirmation forms are due back to Kollin Hodge in the Health Occupations Admissions Office no later than Monday, October 31st.

The orientation/registration seminar for our new Spring 2012 nursing class will be here at El Centro in the Paramount Building, Room P-705 on Wednesday, November 30th.

Hello - I also got accepted for Northlake. Woo Hoo. Just FYI...my GPA was only 3.2...but my HESI was really high. I had to take several times to make sure I maxed out my points. Can't wait to meet everyone. :-)
