El Camino, Compton, Cypress College Spring 2020 nursing application process

Hi everyone. I applied to El Camino College, Compton College and Cypress College. I was hoping we could help each other out in sharing information. This is my first time applying to any nursing program. All I know for now is that ECC is supposed to send an email to potential candidates to take TEAS on or around Oct 21. What I don’t understand is if we will get the invite around that time or if we will be TESTING around that time. It can be read either way. At compton, the lady at the front desk said they’d be behind one week for testing due to her being gone due to a death in the family. So she said that if I got an invite to take the TEAS elsewhere, to do it and then contact her so that she can tell me where to send it. All I remember from Cypress is that we should get an email by Dec 12 or so and to call the school if we don’t. But I don’t remember what they said as far as the TEAS. I guess I’m wondering if denial letters also get sent when invites for TEAS get sent. Anyway, I’d appreciate any feedback from anyone. Thanks!

I was on my way over right now and thankfully I found the correct extension number. She won’t be there until 9:30am, so I won’t be able to talk to her in person. Hopefully this will be resolved easily. I just want her to tell me that she did receive it. I also did it through the share button. ATI said it shouldn’t be a problem if we do it that way.

Yeah Rnhopeful, how did the TEAS go? Did you feel it was easier than the study guide? How did you feel about the English portion? Hopefully you did well in math since you were worried about that section.

So I just called ECC to ask if we’d get results this week and the lady said, “No, I don’t think it will be this week, maybe next week.” ?

I don’t know why they wrote on the board that we would all know by this week.

I Had a feeling it might be next week , my friend said she received her email two weeks after teas. Next weeks sound like more torture ?

I totally bombed that test I got a 70 ??‍♂️ I'm really disappointed. It wasnt hard and I definitely should have done better. I didnt sleep the night before and I was having text anxiety which I normally dont have but I still have confidence that I'll make it in.

You know, I feel the same. I felt like it wasn’t hard per say, but still got the grade I got. Lets just hope that all that really matters is that we score above 62. Hopefully they take other things into consideration. Does anyone know the repeat policy? I want to take it one more time, but idk if ECC or Compton will even take a second one and I can’t remember what they said about it. I like your confidence. I too feel the same, but it is killing me to not know. ?

Sue_ema, did u get it resolved. I called and Mrs. E was irritated, lol. She’s always so nice and professional though, I really like her. She did say she saw my THREE emails, lol. She said she had to process it and that it would take time. All I care for is that she confirmed she got it.

Dub you can take it twice they will take the second score if its higher than the first. And I try to stay confident cause this is a process.

I know how you feel, but it ain’t the worse score. Good luck to all of us, all we can do is wait now?

Well, the repeat policy at El Camino and Compton doesn’t allow you to take the TEAS once again if you got a passing score in the first attempt... I can tell you because I took my TEAS on July with the hope that in case that I got a low score, so I could repeat the test on September; indeed I had a low score same as you, and when I met with the counselors from El Camino and Compton to get my eligibility package, I let them know that I would be taking the test once again in the last days of September because I was thinking to reprogrammed in The University of Phoenix which had available spots for last days of September. They said, that although I probably would score higher in my second attempt, they only would take my first attempt because I got a passing score. I remember told them that it was much better to fail in the first attempt rather than get a passing grade, but it worst, because if you fail you have to take one year of remedial classes.

There are another colleges which allow a second attempt and take the higher one and are less rigorous with that. I think that policy of El Camino and Compton is totally ridiculous, but it’s the policy.

Hello everyone I am new to this thread and have been reading it. If i haven't heard anything from ECC for the spring 2020 then i should guess that i did not get in or invited to the TEAS right?
