El Camino, Compton, Cypress College Spring 2020 nursing application process

Hi everyone. I applied to El Camino College, Compton College and Cypress College. I was hoping we could help each other out in sharing information. This is my first time applying to any nursing program. All I know for now is that ECC is supposed to send an email to potential candidates to take TEAS on or around Oct 21. What I don’t understand is if we will get the invite around that time or if we will be TESTING around that time. It can be read either way. At compton, the lady at the front desk said they’d be behind one week for testing due to her being gone due to a death in the family. So she said that if I got an invite to take the TEAS elsewhere, to do it and then contact her so that she can tell me where to send it. All I remember from Cypress is that we should get an email by Dec 12 or so and to call the school if we don’t. But I don’t remember what they said as far as the TEAS. I guess I’m wondering if denial letters also get sent when invites for TEAS get sent. Anyway, I’d appreciate any feedback from anyone. Thanks!

Make sure u log into your TEAS the morning before you take the exam. There were a couple of students who hadn’t even made a user name/password and another one couldn’t remember his password. They were sent home.

And you’ll do fine. Make sure ur good with your percentages. I feel like there were a lot of questions on that.

Congrats! you did great. I scored overall 83.3% & till this day I’m mad about not getting 85% lol, are the students that were sent home able to retake ?

@Rnhopeful: did u mean ECC or Compton? My preference is ECC because it is closest to me, but I’ll go wherever I get in. I missed the application period for all the other nursing programs, so I only applied to ECC, Compton and Cypress. I’m hoping to be accepted by at least one of them.

@Sue_ema: I know what u mean about being upset. I still get mad at how I scored so low on the English portion. Oh well, that’s what I get for not planning things out. To be honest with you, I don’t know if the students got kicked out. I know she said they had to leave and come back at 1pm, but I didn’t actually verify with my own eyes if they actually left. I know the one guy who couldn’t figure out his password was allowed to step out and reset it and take it.

We still have a good teas score, so hopefully we both get into ecc, that’s my first choice as well but I’ll be fine with Compton. Hopefully everyone has taken it, so that we could possibly hear from them in 2 weeks.

We were told that everyone would know by the end of this week. I think they tested everyone on Friday because she told the other students to come back at 1pm. I hope you’re right and we get in. ??

I checked the TEAS website to see how quick they send results out to other schools. It said it does it within two hours. I’m hoping that ECC tells us by Thursday because I don’t want to pay to send scores elsewhere if I don’t have to. But I’m definitely sending my scores to LA trade tech to get on their waiting list as a back-up. You never know what can happen in the next year and a half.

Understandable, I had to pay for both el Camino and Compton but at the end it is money well spent, because we never know the outcome of our first choice school.

OMG, I’m thinking the same!! This is too much. I thought u were going to say you got an email or something. I won’t be surprised if we don’t hear anything until next week.

Lol. I was thinking the same thing when I heard the notification. Hopefully later today or tomorrow. I figured in two week but since you said this week I’ve been patiently waiting .
