Hi everyone. I applied to El Camino College, Compton College and Cypress College. I was hoping we could help each other out in sharing information. This is my first time applying to any nursing program. All I know for now is that ECC is supposed to send an email to potential candidates to take TEAS on or around Oct 21. What I don’t understand is if we will get the invite around that time or if we will be TESTING around that time. It can be read either way. At compton, the lady at the front desk said they’d be behind one week for testing due to her being gone due to a death in the family. So she said that if I got an invite to take the TEAS elsewhere, to do it and then contact her so that she can tell me where to send it. All I remember from Cypress is that we should get an email by Dec 12 or so and to call the school if we don’t. But I don’t remember what they said as far as the TEAS. I guess I’m wondering if denial letters also get sent when invites for TEAS get sent. Anyway, I’d appreciate any feedback from anyone. Thanks!

The math is pretty basic, the reading and English could be pretty tricky and the science is a mixture of anatomy, physiology and chemistry conversions. Make sure you really study and don’t second guess yourself. I joined a teas group on Facebook & a lot of people seem to fail, that group was helpful but also made me nervous because of the multiple times people were taking it.

Thanks for the tips I'm deff trying to retain as much as I can. On the practice test i scored decently so just trying to improve my scores
Hi y’all! So for Compton, did y’all just email back and say you weren’t taking jt with them? The email says instructions are provided for those who will take it earlier, but it didn’t. I tried calling but never got through. I just sent an email stating that I’m taking it Nov. 1 and that I will forward the results. Did anyone do the same? I guess they just want to know who will take it?

I would call the nursing office just to make sure. With Compton I sent teas results cause that’s all they were asking me for but no confirmation yet. As long as you let them know that you are taking teas before their date Then I’m sure you will get a email on how to send teas results from Compton.
Hiii!!!
New here!
I applied just at Compton and I received an email on Monday to send an electronic official copy of my TEAS examination. I already took the ATI TEAS. It also says test results must be received before November 11 if I am to remain within the application processing timeline for Spring 2020.
Im so anxious and nervous. Too much time to know if we will be accepted or not... thankfully I found this site, it will help me to cope with the stress.

Welcome, the wait does seem long, but I’m hoping we find out two weeks after people take teas.
Hi RNhopeful! Well, I did ok considering I barely managed to cover the book the night before the exam. There was so much damn info to cover and I obviously didn’t manage my time right. I went through all the math the day before the exam and didn’t finish reading it ‘til night time. Now that I think about it, I didn’t get to cover the last part of one of the English sections either. I was so disappointed and mad at myself that I didn’t start studying from the moment I turned in the application. I only managed to do one practice exam of each section and didn’t even have time to review It. I was just desperate to get through the entire book before the exam. Anyhow, I scored 86% overall. Science: 98%, math: 94%, and did horrible on the English portions: 75% and 71%
So I was satisfied with my results given that I didn’t get to actually practice doing any of the practice exams, but very upset because I know I would have scored in the 90’s had I had another week-or even a couple of days to just be able to work on the practice problems. I was about to not take it because I was worried about failing it and then completely screwing up my chance to get into ANY program, but my friend sent me a psalm to read, lol. She said to read it (I’m not religious) and that I’d do well. It did make me feel better and just decided to be positive about it and do my best. So yeah, that’s how it went. I hope ur ready for yours on the 7th. Study the English portion. It has a lot of information.

It sounds like you still did pretty good congrats on making it through. And thanks for the tips I'm deff more concerned about the math because that's not my best subject. But fingers crossed
Make sure u log into your TEAS the morning before you take the exam. There were a couple of students who hadn’t even made a user name/password and another one couldn’t remember his password. They were sent home.
And you’ll do fine. Make sure ur good with your percentages. I feel like there were a lot of questions on that.
