El Camino, Compton, Cypress College Spring 2020 nursing application process

Published

Hi everyone. I applied to El Camino College, Compton College and Cypress College. I was hoping we could help each other out in sharing information. This is my first time applying to any nursing program. All I know for now is that ECC is supposed to send an email to potential candidates to take TEAS on or around Oct 21. What I don’t understand is if we will get the invite around that time or if we will be TESTING around that time. It can be read either way. At compton, the lady at the front desk said they’d be behind one week for testing due to her being gone due to a death in the family. So she said that if I got an invite to take the TEAS elsewhere, to do it and then contact her so that she can tell me where to send it. All I remember from Cypress is that we should get an email by Dec 12 or so and to call the school if we don’t. But I don’t remember what they said as far as the TEAS. I guess I’m wondering if denial letters also get sent when invites for TEAS get sent. Anyway, I’d appreciate any feedback from anyone. Thanks!

I’m worried about passing background ?

I don’t qualify for financial aid anymore, so I’m not looking forward to paying for any if this-especially since I’m broke ? I’m going to go see what I can do about loans tomorrow. I’ve never spent more than $25 for a top or bottom uniform, so not happy about spending $40 for ea ?

If anyone has advice on loans based on experience, I’d appreciate the info.

That suck. I don’t know anything about loans. Do you mind if I ask why you don’t qualify anymore? If I remember correctly ECC nursing program total cost is $8,000.

Hopefully I get some financial aid. I’m able to afford it now but once I work less, I’m going to struggle financially. I applied for a school loans when I went private, sallie Mae but idk how it works for community colleges.

I maxed out at UCLA. When I started retaking classes last year I did qualify for the BOG. I forget what its called now. I was so happy for that. So as long as that continues, I’ll be happy.

I believe you have to purchase your el Camino uniform on or before the 11/21/19. You cannot return uniform if el Camino college logo is embroidered on it.

Oh, I forgot about the logo? ?

Why? I know sometimes our past follows us lol

Yeah, Idk how loans work at the community level. I’m going tomorrow to ask. I’ll let you know.

Y’all better make sure you filed for fafsa already.

I believe the deadline is March, I started mine but need to get help for certain sections idk how to answer.

I got in a fight 10 years ago and it was put on my record. Worried it will disqualify me.

If it’s on record, as long as you don’t hide it, when they asked they might not say anything. Hopefully, everything will be okay for you.

I’m sure that won’t hurt you, I believe they look at if you have a felony. I also got into something similar with my ex, but no charges & previous jobs have done background on me & everything clear. Life scans are the ones that go deep into your records .

I hope you’re right and it doesn’t affect me. I guess we’ll find out soon.
