EKG/Phlebotomy Certification help. Where to get and how much?

U.S.A. New York

I am in nursing school. Also enrolled in an EMT-b course right now. Have practical and State test for EMT in about 10 days from now. I was at a career fair at my school and found a hospital down the block (literally like 15 minute walk at most) hires nursing students who have EKG and phlebotomy skills. I have an interview for an EMT job the 24th and will be trying to get another interview next week. I plan to work and save money to take the EKG/Phlebotomy course in the summer and then see about getting a job at that hospital once I get it.

Only problem is I know of only 1 place to get the certification, which I will inquire about next week when I have some free time.

Can anyone recommend me places to get this and about how much it would cost?

I took the CNA course at the Manhattan Institute. I am finished with the classroom portion, and I'm about to start the clinicals in the nursing home next week. It was a great class. I'm hoping getting my CNA certification will help me be more marketable for a hospital position. I will try and volunteer in the meantime to gain experience until I get hired. Thank you for your advice. My goal is to get a position at Mount Sinai hospital. :-). Good luck in your endeavors!:)

i started pbison last year, once the interview is over, it usally takes a few weeks for the committee to meet and for you to hear back from them.

i really haven't heard of ppl being interviewed and then rejected.

they're one-on-one... basically know the in's and out's of your essay, the usual questions.. finanacial aid packages go out as soon as you receive your acceptance, theyre actually in the same package.

Hi mymy1219 havent been on this site in ages, i never started the program i got fed up with looking at different schools and at the time needed a job, i got a housekeeping job but now realise that was a hugh mistake. Did you do the cna course? if so where did you do it, how was it, its time for me to take action and stop thinking any info would be great thanks.

thank you

I just completed my CNA training at New York Institute of Medical Careers in Woodside. The course is under $600 and can be completed in a short period of time. I don't work for the school and I found the training to be pretty good and inexpensive compared to other schools in the area. They also offer an ekg/phlebotomy course as well. Good luck to everyone!

This is the least expensive school. My cousin went there.
