Edison State College 2014

U.S.A. Florida

Hello! Is anyone applying for Edison(Lee campus) for fall of next year? I plan on applying in the spring for the evening program. I'm also in the process of finishing my last pre reqs and studying for the Hesi. I know the evening program is about 5 semesters but does anyone know if its shorter when all pre reqs are completed? So far I've gotten all A's in them. Thanks in advance

Thank you. This scoring system seems to be a little easier then the school I am at (lake sumter state college) where there are specific scores per section. Do you happen to know if edison state has a waiting list?

Also, how do you calculate the total points you have? I'm not sure if my school has the same formula. Thanks!

Hi you are welcome. There are no waiting lists. If you don't get in you just have to keep applying :(. Here's the link for the rest of the points. Let me know if you can't see it. I can copy & paste. Have you applied to the school itself?

Thanks again lol. But if I don't get in that means I probably didn't meet the requirements or are there other reasons as on why someone won't get in? :/

Honestly it depends on who's applying that term and what campus you're applying to. Lee is the most competitive campus bc it's the main campus. You need at least 85+ points to get in. With Charlotte and Collier you can get in with as little as 70 something points. It just all depends really. You can number the campus selections from 1-4 and if you qualify then you get in.

I actually haven't transferred to the school I'm still awaiting for more info. Do you have any advice on how to achieve 85+ points I might have to stay on campus or get an apt lee campus might most likely be the option. I am more familiar with that part if town.

Well there’s a total of 100 points that you can get. It’s broken down in 3 parts (Gpa max 25 points, Pre reqs 35 points , and HESI max 40 points.

When did you plan on applying? For fall it might be a little too late to start. For one you would have to apply then get your transcripts evaluated to see if your current classes would transfer. Also if your gpa isn't good I would retake the classes that you didn't do so well in. There's 9 required pre & co reps for the program. They are comp, Micro, A&P I, A&P II, human growth and development, College algebra or statistics, ethics, and psychology. Classes in bold have to be taken before you can apply. The more pre req classes that you've taken equal more points, and finally you have to take the HESI. You have to be a student to take it. All the spots for this cycle are filled up unfortunately. The deadline to apply is May 15th.

I'm applying for the spring but I didn't know ethics was a required prereq :o

I'm sorry not ethics is not a pre req. Any humanities class will do. I was looking at my points sheet when I typed that sorry.

It's okay. Thanks :) I appreciate all your help. Good luck!

Thank you! Good luck to you as well :)

I got into the FGCU BSN program, so i wont be applying to the Edison program after all. It's nice that I can skip the Associates in nursing now, wahoo. Anyways I had a totally of 87 points for the Edison program. Good luck to everyone here!
