  1. I officially called today and gave up my seat in the Lee Day program. Hope someone gets the call they have been waiting for! Good luck in the program!
  2. I got into the Lee campus day program, but i'm going to give up my spot because I got into the BSN program at FGCU. Good luck, and good job guys!!!!!
  3. I read through quite a few pages. Some think that the ADN/BSN this is a way to segregate the social classes. Honestly I think that is ridiculous to an extent. Through grants and loans, most people can get through many colleges and universities. I dropped out in 9th grade and got my GED. I was a dumb ass and accumulated a bunch of kids after that. Thankfully after that (at 27) I was able to get my head on straight and figure out how to go back to school. I got my AA with honors at a community college, completed my prerequisites for the local nursing programs, and applied for the top two. I do not know about other places, but here it is very competitive. The community college has a ADN program that offers 24 seats per year (250ish? apply). Only the top GPA and HESI scores get admitted. The second option is the BSN program at the University. 50 per year get in out of about 400-500 applicants. Only the top GPA and TEAS scores get in. I plan on moving up to my MSN, so of course I was hoping to get into the BSN program. Thankfully I did, but I would have been ecstatic to get into the ADN as well. Now being a high school drop out, in my 30s, and a single mom with 4 kids, does not limit my ability to get a BSN vs a ADN. I am the lowest of the low out there statistically, and and barely making it financially, but if I can do it anyone can. Regardless of my background, I have been able to get into BSN school. All the opportunities I have had when it comes to aid, are available to most out there. Anyone who puts in effort can get their BSN, no matter what their background.
  4. Oh and what is the facebook nursing page?
  5. Thank you sooooo much for the advice! You are awesome!
  6. I like in Cape Coral. It is a drive, but it is doable. I am having a lot of issues with Edison and FGCU though, so I hope I do not lose my spot in the program. Edison is refusing to send my AA degree because of a mistake they made. And FGCU is saying that I have to take a class this summer with no Financial Aid to keep my student status, but i have a hold because of the miss AA degree. GRRRR
  7. I know you have to have a medical liability insurance while you are in the program.
  8. Thanks. Fall 2014. :)
  9. I got into the FGCU BSN program, so i wont be applying to the Edison program after all. It's nice that I can skip the Associates in nursing now, wahoo. Anyways I had a totally of 87 points for the Edison program. Good luck to everyone here!
  10. I think you have a better than either way chance as well. Honestly i did not expect to get in at all. I was completely shocked. You did better on your test than me and i did better on my GPA. We are pretty even imo and i made it. Good luck to you, I'm hoping you get in!
  11. I got in! Just got the letter!!!!!!! My GPA was about 3.7-3.8. I did bad on the TEAS though, with only a 74%. Good Luck!!!!!!
  12. I am applying for any programs available, day evening ect. Going to apply for lee, charlotte, and maybe even naples. They are changing the entire program though and have pushed back the original deadline of FEB 15th to April I think. apparently they are letting more people in this year. I hope I have a chance lol
  13. I just applied today. I hope I get in. I only did the TEAS test once, and didn't do as well as I expected. Hope it is good enough! I am also applying for Edison's program. I did MUCH better on the HESI test. I guess we will see
