Edison State College 2014

Published

Hello! Is anyone applying for Edison(Lee campus) for fall of next year? I plan on applying in the spring for the evening program. I'm also in the process of finishing my last pre reqs and studying for the Hesi. I know the evening program is about 5 semesters but does anyone know if its shorter when all pre reqs are completed? So far I've gotten all A's in them. Thanks in advance

I'm transferring from FGCU and have never taken any classes at edison, since I have been accepted into the nursing program does anyone know if that officially makes me a student at edison? i still have no gone to get my edison ID card, nor have I had a meeting with an advisor

I'm not sure if that makes you a student at edison. Do you have a student number? Can you check your portal? What is listed under your major? I would go to admissions if I were you just to be certain that everything is in order. There is never a line at Collier Campus.

I'm assuming that you're a student since you took the Hesi. Only students of the college can take the Hesi. You should also be able to check your registration status on the portal.

I did not get the acceptance packet yet. I hope to get it this week. I am also still listed as pre-nursing so I can't sign up for classes either. I am taking the CPR course tomorrow.

Okay I think the only people that have received packets are those of us who got into Charlotte. As part of the packet we have to register for the Student Nurse Network-NUC1000.

Here's the link to do that. It says that students can self enroll in this course using this URL: https://edison.instructure.com/enroll/A8EMAE. Alternatively, you can sign up at https://edison.instructre.com/register and use the following join code: A8EMAE

*Nursing Handbook: The "Nursing Student Handbook" can be found on The Student Nurse Network under files-ASN Nursing Handbook. You need to sign and return the following pages from the handbook in Chapter Five to the Charlotte Nursing Office ( or whichever campus you were accepted to) by August 12,2014 (the date of boot camp/orientation for Charlotte. I'm not sure what the deadline is for other campuses. I believe it will state it when you get your packets.)

1. Informed Consent for Accidental Insurance

2. Informed Consent Hepititis

3. Internet and Computer Code of Ethics Form

4. Statement of Confidentiality and Dissemination of Client Information (HIPPA form basically)

5. ASN Transfer Policy and Attestation Form

6. Acceptance of Responsibility

The only other things that I got in the packet was the acceptance form, info on getting the CPR certification, the forms for the clinical sites, and the uniforms.

I hope this helps you all in some way ;). If you're anything like me you hate waiting! I like to get everything done ahead of time.

Someone emailed me and told me that the link I posted is above for the Charlotte campus. I apologize... I thought it was a link for everyone but apparently each campus has a different access code. I guess you could still log on using that code to see what it looks like to go on there and then "drop" the course when you get your packet. The nursing handbook is the same for everyone.

Thank you so much for all that info!

Yes I did! I don't think we are getting anything by mail, I believe it's just the email since it has all the info.

I spoke with someone in the nursing department this afternoon about Lee Campus day program's orientation date. They said they are still waiting on some background checks to go through, but they should send out an email with all the information sometime later this week.
