Hey guys, I want to come by and say hello and to let everyone know that I finished my BSN online through a local NC college and will graduate May 14th. I haven't visited Allnurses in a while because I was so busy with school. I completed the EC program Feb 09 in 12 months and took off a year before getting my BSN. I just wanted to encourage all the EC students to keep up the progress and don't stop till you accomplish all your dreams. The program is truely worth it and has opened many doors from me. I plan to rest for a while. I am on the fence about getting my MSN because I am BURNED OUT! Life is good right now and I plan to enjoy it!

Thanks for providing the encouraging information. You're inspirational story definitely helps keep me focused.

Hey, thanks for sharing and congrats on your accomplishments! I can't wait to be in you shoes! I remember reading about your EC journey when I was just creeping on this board deciding what to do with my education. Now I am super close to the CPNE club! Where did you take your CPNE? :-)

I went to nursing school in Raleigh,NC (don't live there anymore) but was wondering if the program you went to accepted all of your EC credits? (I am doing the science courses via EC) Do they have an online only program? I called ECU and UNC and I know their online RN-BSN program doesn't. I have been looking into the online schools like WGU and ASU, but also checking on different BSN options for when I graduate to save $$. Thanks in advance!!!

Ms. PC, I test on Developmental Psych tomorrow and I just took a 2 hour nap with my son. He has been sick, just started on some abx, so my nights have been sleepless and my days filled with cranky boogie nose baby. I really hope I do OK tomorrow, I am so nervous, haven't been able to focus. Go take a nap, we work hard! :-)

Wow! You are GREAT motivation to the rest of us! Thanks & :yeah::bow::yelclap::w00t:

I took my CPNE at Faxton St. Lukes in Utica NY. It was a super old hospital without all the modern technology. Civita was our CA and the nurse CE's were super nice! The hospital had patients that were in ward like rooms. I remember seeing four to a room. I passed with no repeats and TRUST me I made a few mistakes. They were very fair. I prayed alot and know I had God's favor.I think 5 out of 12 passed that weekend. My friend also took it at the same hospital and passed after her second try. She messed up on the IVP lab the first time but went back the next month and nailed it. Also if you take it at that hospital, the chances of having a peds patient is SLIM. I had a 89 yr old substitute with pnuemonia.

I attended Winston-Salem State University online RN-BSN. I was part of their first online RN-BSN program and they only take 30 people. What was so great about the program, I was exempt from the first class because they gave me credit for EC's Transitions to Professional Nursing. I was super shocked about that! So we everyone else started in June but I started in Aug. The whole program cost me $2200 because they accepted all my prerequites from my previous BSN degree. Good Luck! You will get to the finish line.

Congrats on your accomplishment. I guess it is ok if you take some time to rest before you start in on an MSN! :yeah:

I can't believe in all that I posted I forgot to congratulate you. You did an amazing job and knocked it out super quick. You worked hard and it paid off. I am starting to feel like I'm never going to get to the end. ~sigh.

You will do great beach. I know how having a cranky baby is. Mine is finally over the teething crankies for this round and i'm able to study better. I am still barely on track to do my HDLS3 this weekend. I really don't want to move it to next week, but I might...

Thanks so much for all the great info and encouragement!!! Did you do a workshop for your CPNE? (Sorry for all the questions!!!)

Definately such a motivator to see an EC grad out there working as a RN and continuing on in education. You have alot to be proud of!!! :-)

Will def be looking into Winston-Salem for BSN program. :-)

Congrats on your accomplishments! :D I have been trying to fast track my education, and feeling a bit burnt out recently. Not a good time to be burnt, I am preparing for CPNE. Good to see your post, it is inspiring!!

I did Lynn's workshop in Charlotte. It was helpful. I would definetly recommend going to a workshop.

I realize that this is an older thread, but I was hoping to get in contact with you NC Girl BSN!! I have recently joined this site and apparently can't private message until I have made enough "quality" posts. I recently graduated from EC with my ADN. I am just waiting on my authorization to test letter so I can sit for the NCLEX. I will be looking for a job soon and since I am just a few miles away from the WakeMed main campus I plan on inquiring about a job with them. Also, my family and I have had care provided at WakeMed campuses and were always very pleased with the care provided.

Since I don't know if you can private message me either, I'm including my email address. If you happen to get this, I would greatly appreciate a response, as I can use all the help I can get, LOL!

Thanks!!!
