EB3 Green Card

Published

Hello All,

I am seeking a way to apply EB3 green card as a registered nurse. I would like to know if anyone has any information about it. The hospital that hired me told me they only fill out the paperwork, but nothing else. They don't know the detail about how others did it. However, my manager was very happy that I want to stay. I am currently in the US and will start my OPT next month. I'm an international student from Taiwan. I have Indiana nursing license and BSN degree.

I also talked with a staffing company. They told me that I will have to sign a two years contract with them. They told me that I will have to do Form I-140, Form I-485, Visa Screen, and pay an attorney fee.

I read something online that my employer have to fill out ETA 9089. It seems impossible to apply the green card without the help of staffing company.

I am considering hiring an attorney to help me to stay at my hospital. I would like to know if anyone has any suggestion on my situation.

I would also like to know what hospitals sponsor EB3 green card for nurses. (I heard "Prairie St. John's,ND 58103" sponsor green card).

Thank you. Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

The hospital needs to employ a lawyer as EB3 is employer based they need to complete all relevant paperwork and pay fees. Hospitals that are going that route well really you will need to do some ringing around as we dont hear of many hospitals that are at the moment especially in areas where surplus rather than deficit of nurses occur.

you would need to get the visa screen done a license to practice in whatever state you are in that the main thing and then after that speak with a lawyer and have you work fill out i ETA 9089 and have them submitted i am actually going thru the process right now and i am at the point where i am waiting for the ETA 9089 to be approved

Do you have the hospital sponsor you? I want to know what hospital sponsor foreign nurse with a BSN degree. Good luck on your application!! Thank you!!

Thank you for your comment. I have been asking around, but no good news form any hospitals. The staffing company said that I will not have any training, but only one shadow day. I wounder if this is the only way that I can apply EB3 green card on my situation.

yes the hospital is sponsoring me in your case tho the best bet is to work with a hospital sign the 2 year contract get your nursing license for that state if you dont have it already and go speak with a lawyer and see what they can do for you your situation is a little bit different from mines cause of that whole OPT thing which i am not familiar with

Thank you for your reply! May I know what's the name of your hospital? I have been asking around, but no luck. I can work at any hospital with my OPT for one year. I graduated from a BSN program in the US. Good Luck on your ETA 9089 application!!

I am graduating this December with my BSN. I am trying to figure out whether I should reach out to the staffing agency or directly work with the hospitals. Would you post your email? I would like to keep in touch and share information with you, if you don't mind.

Hello! I'm from China, have the same situation as you. Have you heard anything about hospitals?

Hello all. I'm an italian educated nurse. I passed my NCLEX last month and I'm actually waiting for my VS to be issued by CGFNS. In the meantime am I supposed to fill the I-140 and self applying? It seems, reading the I-140 infos form, that RNs can self apply for the i-140. What do you know about it? Many thanks.

i-140 is a employment based form meaning your employer needs to fill it out and submitted no self applying in this case

Sure about that? Why does it says on the I-140 that one can self apply? That i don't understand...
