Hi all!
I know it's still early for this program (deadline in May), but I was recently accepted and wanted to start a discussion forum! I really wanted to be in Pittsburgh and like Duquesne's program, which is why I applied.
Accepted/prospective students please feel free to respond, as well as current students - I'd love to hear what you think about the program!

This is so so wonderful to hear, @xcontraindicatedx! Thanks so much for posting! Did you feel that the 12 month program was manageable? Where did you do your clinicals and did you enjoy them/learn a lot during them?
The program was manageable but it was very hard! I put 100% energy and time into it for 12 months straight (minus XMAS break). Mon-Fri was spent in classes/clinicals and Sat/Sun was spent studying all day. But because you are so busy it goes very fast. Do not go into it thinking you can slack at all; 20 people failed our first semester, and 25 who were in the 12 month dropped down to 16 month because the pace was too fast. I do not say any of this to discourage you but just be mentally prepared! If you study, are dedicated, and prioritize this program you will do fine! I finished with a strong GPA and passed the NCLEX in 75 questions (as did my friends in the program) but Duquesne does exactly what’s it supposed to do; get you to pass the NCLEX! There are HESI exits test following each clincial course and they are difficult but manageable. The final comprehensive HESI covers everything from the whole program and it was very hard. Only 10 people passed the first round (you get 3 chances to take it). Best piece of advice I could give someone going into the program is if you have an extra 300 dollars to purchase UWorld year subscription right before you start the first semester and complete all the practice questions throughout the year corresponding with each related course, if you do this you’ll be prepared for the exit HESI and subsequently the NCLEX.
If anyone has any specific questions feel free to ask!
@tout_est_gore I also applied a couple of weeks ago, and all of my transcripts have just been received. So I guess I should hear back within a month or so...
@tout_est_gore Just got my acceptance! Waiting on a couple more schools but would be happy to go to Duquesne, it's on the top of my list.
