Hey everyone! I could not find a forum for the ABSN program at Duquesne for Fall 2021, so I decided to go ahead and create one. I just got my acceptance letter this week, and am 99% sure this is the program I am going to commit to. Would love to talk to other candidates who are in the process of applying, already applied and waiting for a decision, or have been accepted already as well!

I just received my acceptance this Friday! Really nice to get the tuition scholarship, but thinking about all the loans I'm going to have to take out. Where are you planning on living?

Just finished my application! How long was turn around time till hearing your acceptance? Did you get notification of scholarship offers at the same time?

Congratulations ? the thought of taking out more loans makes my stomach hurt, but I guess it's worth it in the end haha originally I was looking for an apartment in the city itself (either downtown or near the strip district) but after looking at costs I think I'm going to just accept the commute and find an apartment outside the city in Dormont or Bethel Park. What about you?

Have you heard back yet? I had applied right when it had opened (I think it was late August) and I heard back about two and a half weeks later. I got notified about the $5000 scholarship that all incoming ABSN students get in the acceptance letter, but any other scholarships, grants, loans, etc. you get notified about in your financial aid offer letter I believe.

I finally completed my application this afternoon. I have a couple questions about the program:
How large is the cohort size? (12 month vs 16 month)
How long does it take for the admissions committee to render a decision once the application is completed?
Is on-campus housing available for second degree students? Is it preferable to live on campus vs off campus? How difficult will it be to secure off campus housing in the Pittsburgh area?
Finny.

I was just accepted today! Pretty excited as this is my first acceptance-- my decision will be based mostly on cost, so I'm still waiting to hear back from other schools before committing. Duquesne seems like it has a great program, though, and Pittsburgh seems like a great place to live.

Congratulations! How long did it take for admissions to provide a decision following the completion of your application?

Congratulations ? I also applied to multiple programs and am making my decision based off of cost. So far, Duquesne seems like the best cost wise of the programs I've been accepted to. What other programs did you apply to?

I applied to University of Southern Maine, Quinnipiac U, U of MD Baltimore, and the Denver College of Nursing. I'm still waiting on decisions from all of them except Maine, where I was waitlisted (I don't anticipate making it off the waitlist unfortunately)
