  1. Hi everyone, I'm currently in the 12-month program and graduating in a couple weeks. I wanted to see if I could give away my scrubs to anyone (for free)-- I have 3 scrub tops (size M) and 1 pair of women's pants (unworn, size M) if anyone wants them, all clean and in fine condition. If there's a facebook group or something for the cohort it would be great if someone would be willing to add me or just post on my behalf to see if anyone there might want them too! I'm also happy to answer any questions I can about the program or Pittsburgh!
  2. Hey Christina, I'd be down for that! I won't know anyone in Pittsburgh and agree a less formal group might be nice. For sure post it here if you do make one ?
  3. I'm also moving from California ? I visited Pittsburgh last weekend to look at a few neighborhoods/apartments and I settled on a place in downtown/the Cultural District about a 15-minute walk from campus. I chose downtown because it seems a bit more removed from the party/general undergrad scene of Oakland/Southside and closer to campus than Shadyside, but without being completely isolated or too far away from stuff (so basically what @roundribs said)
  4. It definitely seems like a lot of stuff that needs to get done! I'm also out of state and moving to Pittsburgh in about a month, I'm hoping to get it all out of the way before then just to avoid further complicating things.
  5. Thank you! I'm going to be moving from California and have never actually been to Pittsburgh before
  6. Just to update about this so someone doesn't see it and panic, it looks like the complaints I was seeing were in reference to a change in the grading scale (changing a passing grade from 74 to 78, which seems about in line with other programs I'm looking at) and the HESI exams that are included in the curriculum/needed to graduate. I actually committed to Duquesne this week ?
  7. Have any of you spoken to current/past students who went through the program? I’m having a hard time finding much discussion about the program itself besides a handful of pretty negative posts from some of the past years. Wondering if these are just a handful of disgruntled students or if the program actually has some issues, and if so, if they’ve been addressed.
  8. @Pwemet if there is no update on your application portal yet then I'd assume there is still a chance that your acceptance could be coming! Not sure though @amy2021 The cost is a big thing for me-- Quinnipiac is the most expensive program I've been accepted to, and I think I'll be declining the offer to go with a cheaper option. Other important factors for me are the locations and each program's NCLEX pass rates.
  9. Thanks for the heads up, I checked and was also accepted! Congrats/good luck to everyone
  10. Not yet, I've been checking pretty often though ? sounds like we should hear within the next couple weeks
  11. Congrats! Will you be accepting?
  12. I applied to University of Southern Maine, Quinnipiac U, U of MD Baltimore, and the Denver College of Nursing. I'm still waiting on decisions from all of them except Maine, where I was waitlisted (I don't anticipate making it off the waitlist unfortunately)
  13. Thank you! I applied on the 17th, so just 6 days ago
  14. I was just accepted today! Pretty excited as this is my first acceptance-- my decision will be based mostly on cost, so I'm still waiting to hear back from other schools before committing. Duquesne seems like it has a great program, though, and Pittsburgh seems like a great place to live.
