Duquesne Second Degree Nursing Class of 2016

Published

Hey everybody, I recently just got the news that I was accepted into Duquesne's Second Degree Nursing program starting in the Fall 2015 semester! Was just curious to see if there was anyone else out there interested in reaching out to other accepted students!

I created a Facebook Group real fast; Duquesne University 2nd Degree Nursing 2016.

The program guide lists Allegheny Health Network hospitals: Allegheny General, Forbes Regionaland West Penn, UPMC Mercy Hospital, UPMC East, UPMC Passavant, UPMC Shadyside, UPMC Magee,UPMC Presbyterian, St. Clair Hospital, UPMC Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic and Children'sHospital of Pittsburgh as the available clinical sites they use. I know Duquesne doesn't give free bus passes like Pitt.

I know I'm late to the party on this, but do you still have the scrubs?!

I really am just looking for an offer... I can work with price and come up with what will be best for both of us. The only thing you will need to purchase for your uniform is a name tag.

I also forgot that I have 2 of the white embroidered polo shirts - Size Small (you will need these for the 2nd semester). I have never worn them. :)

So everything I have:

2 sets of scrubs (tops and bottoms): Size X-Small

2 embroidered polo shirts: Size Small

1 embroidered lab coat: Size Small

Do you still have these scrubs?!

Hi Lao5053 I am planning on living on campus as well. could you lend more info on it ? Did you pick your roomates or do they assign and are those apartments furnished ? Thanks

I don't know which building you're planning on living but I'm living in Brottier apartments. I know all these apartments come furnished. I'm living with 3 other girls that needed a fourth roommate that I knew from a friend but I know they'll just put you in with random people that need roommates if you don't have someone you want to room with.

Thank you so much í ½í¸ƒ

Hey I'll be living in Brottier as well!

Hi mfk101! I just received my acceptance letter as well! I have read mixed reviews from former students about this program. Very interested in reaching out to everyone who has been accepted so we can all get to know each other!

Hi kvp5262 I as well live in Jersey and have been wondering about off campus apts or room rentals. Have you heard/seen any info on these for students?

Hi criccardi536 i visited Duquesne this past weekend. The campus is small, beautiful and easily accessible. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find out any info on off campus housing. The on campus residence life office had ample info only about Duquesne apts. the prices are very reasonable. I won't be having a car with me so I am trying to save time by living on campus. My name is on wait list so let's see í ½í¸€ keeping my fingers crossed

And that is exactly why I created this discussion forum in the first place Criccardi536! We're all in the same boat, so it certainly can't hurt to get to know everyone!
