Duke University ABSN Fall 2018

I just wanted to start a thread for prospective students hoping to start Duke's ABSN program in the Fall of 2018! Feel free to leave any questions or background info!

I called this morning to ask if they will accept an unofficial transcript (becuase I just finished an 8 week A&P on Monday), and they said yes. I asked if there was an updated timeline to expect acceptances going out, and she said to expect to hear *something* by next week. I did not ask for clarification if that is for Duke Days invite or actual acceptances. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the information! But, it's hard to believe that they're going to send out decisions next week if they're still accepting coursework

Agreed. I wonder if this means the last Duke Days has been shifted back to the first week of April.. and decisions might not come out until the following week? Crazy to think this could continue on for another 4-5 weeks!

I believe that is the case based on my call to admissions earlier this week. I was told Duke Days would be held late March and early April.

It's also possible that they're just going to send out decisions and Duke days will be for admitted students only vs. an invitation to Duke days for accepted and waitlisted students. I know they've done that in the past.

I have seen multiple schools accept people into the program in which it is contingent on them completing those last requirements before the program starts/the cohort matriculates. As far as the idea of when Duke Days and Decisions will be out, I think that your idea of them sending out a decision before the open house event may be a possibility because I kept seeing March on my correspondence with Duke. However, I also know that the massive snowstorm in January affected their admissions selection process by a week, which could've changed them carrying out the March decision, making it fall onto April. Let us all see what tomorrow brings. Fingers crossed.

Has anyone heard anything? I just checked the applicant portal and there is no decision link available yet. Just wanted to check in to see if anyone has received an email regarding Duke Days. I am going back and forth between looking for an email and regularly checking the applicant portal.
