I have been reviewing this board since this past December and decided to sign up so I could join everyone in what seems to be the longest wait ever! I was really hoping that Duke Days invites would go out yesterday and am losing hope that they will come out today given the hour.

Are we notified is we are not invited to Duke Days by email? I have until March 9th to let Edgewood (in WI) know if I am attending... why do they wait so long??

I heard it was email, yes. But an invite to Duke Days doesn't mean acceptance. Half of the invites that go out are for waitlisted individuals too.

Hey everyone. This is my first time posting but I've been reading the posts since December. What I've gathered from previous threads regarding the fall ABSN program is if DUKE doesn't send out anything the first week in March, they're sending out decisions around mid- march. If we hear about Duke days during the first week then we won't hear back about acceptances until after Duke days are completed.

What even are Duke Days? If you get an email are you supposed to go to Duke Days in NC? I'm from Wisconsin this just seems kinda foolish hahaha

I broke down and called the admissions office to ask if they would release the proposed dates for Duke Days (for planning purposes). I was told Duke Days would be held late March and early April. Based on posts on this website from the Fall 2017 cohort, Duke Days were held on Friday March 24 and Friday March 31 (there are always two dates from which to choose, from what I understand). The invitations for Duke Days for the Fall 2017 cohort went out on March 1, 2017 around 2:30 (yeah - I have scoured this website and the posts trying to pinpoint a date I might know finally know something; it's a little sad). That would be right around 3 weeks prior to the first "Duke Day" on March 24. It seems that this year the entire schedule has been shifted by one week (Fall 2018 Duke Days being hypothetically 3/30 and 4/6). My hope based on what I have read is that perhaps invitations will start going out this week, hopefully no later than this Wednesday, as that would be right around 3 weeks prior to the first Duke Days.

Also, there was a webinar back in Nov. 2017 hosted by Nora and Brigit that was all about applying to the ABSN program for Fall 2018. They explicitly state that if you are invited to Duke Days, you are either admitted or wait-listed. They are also clear in stating that admissions decisions will be released in early April (for Fall cohort), so unfortunately, it does not seem like we will hear before then.

It seems we are still in the waiting process. I am keeping my fingers crossed and trying not to break my email refresh button in the meantime.

Hey guys, I've been following this since I applied. This wait is killing me! I keep refreshing my email but like the rest of you I see nothing. In the mean time do any of you guys know what kind of nurse you want to be? I want to become a CRNA. Good money.

That's what I'm going for. They tell you to go for your bsn at the same school you want to get your crna from. Duke has an awesome program. They'll show you their classrooms for the crna when you go for Duke days. Their facilities are so advanced.
