Duke and UNC MSN hopefuls Fall 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone!

Has anyone else applied for their MSN at Duke or UNC for Fall 2015 matriculation. I specifically applied for the Nursing Education program, but would love replies from anyone who has applied!

Does anyone have any idea when when we will be hearing from either school. I am new to this entire process!

Thanks for the replies!

She is an employee at UNC hospital. That's what I thought too.

Do you work at UNC also? Maybe you'll hear sooner?

Also, maybe it's related to the specialty. I wonder what takes them so long considering we had to submit it so early...

I just think that is extremely unfair. Duke releases ALL decisions the same day regardless of program and have been very open throughout the process. I work at Duke and don't get my decision earlier. I know people who graduate from Duke with a Bachelors have an "early decision" option but no preference for being an employee, only alumni.

WhitneyHicks someone told me that Duke is giving us one month to accept/reject their offer instead of only two weeks like in previous years. Can't wait until decisions come out Feb 18th! Good luck everyone!

A month would be awesome!

Nope, I work for Wake County Government. I don't actually know her. I heard it from a friend who applied for the MSN Psych NP program, same as her. He hasn't heard anything either.

Good luck to all of you who applied to Duke as well!

I applied adult MSN NP. Quite discouraging to hear there have been so many applicants :***: I am a new nurse with a year of icu experience. I have previous degrees and I'm working on my BSN now. What about everyone else? what made you choose your specialty? Really wish this process wasn't so slow.

Did any of you get into your program of choice?
