Duke Spring 2022 MSN

Published

Hi there,

I thought I would start this thread for people applying for Duke's MSN program Spring 2022. I am applying for FNP and applied early admission since I'm a Duke nurse. Anyone else already have the ball rolling?

Not yet. Did you get yours today?

@Elton Veals Jr I got mine today. I still have to do 30 credits out of 49. The only classes I have to take next year are N583 and N596. I have to retake pharm and either take a 1 credit refresher on assessment or I can have assessment waived with a head-to-toe!

Do you know if you have to repeat those courses because it was a different number of credit hours or it was a combined course that Duke doesn’t accept?

@Elton Veals Jr mine didn’t transfer because the course objectives at my previous institution didn’t meet Duke’s course objectives for the same course. They were the same credit hours. My pharmacology course was just not detailed enough, I imagine.

@PICU_RN Yea I have to take 27 out of the 49. My pharm and patho didn't satisfy either. I knew this because My CNL program merged them as one course. Im OK with refreshing tho... (I think haha). I also only have to do the 1 credit Assessment , as my course satisfied it. Im just curious as to why they are only letting me take on course a semester ? I can handle two or 3 courses at a time. I did (am doing) that in my MSN-CNL program.  I would definitely like to knock out patho and transitions out early.
