Hi there,
I thought I would start this thread for people applying for Duke's MSN program Spring 2022. I am applying for FNP and applied early admission since I'm a Duke nurse. Anyone else already have the ball rolling?

@CJG89 Yes my courses (Pharm/Advanced Patho) were together and not separate. I knew I shouldve taken them separate. I also wish I wouldve know before I registered for my last semester of MSN because I would have just taken them both this semester to shorten my NP time

How many semesters is your pgc?
@CJG89 Looks like 6. Im trying to cut it to 4 or 5 if I can. Not sure tho because im specializing in oncology, so theres about 9 extra hours for that... So I might end up with a double MSN ha

Elton, how did you get your gap analysis? Did you request it or did they automatically do it for you?

What program are you doing that requires a “gap analysis”
I was accepted into the FNP program, but I have previous graduate course work from another NP Program. Was just wondering if that required a gap analysis or if the gap analysis was something different?
@DmaddRN They asked for it prior to my admission. Im in an MSN program now. I applied to Duke's Post Grad NP Certificate Program. Not sure who and what program requires a gap analysis.

Hi everyone!
I just wanted to pick your guys’ brains a bit on how some of you are going about the MSN program and financing it. We all know the cost to attend is a lot but will be so worth it! I work full time and am planning to remain full time until clinicals start. My work is super flexible and wonderful with school schedules. Is that just absolutely crazy to work full time in an NP Program? Haha I heard the program is tailored to be flexible for students still working full time but I also want to do well in my courses and not be so completely burned out between school and work.

Hey there! I am going to continue to work full time for as long as I possibly can. I have two kiddos I need to take care of and can't afford to go down on my income. I think it is doable as long as you set your mind on some difficult years ahead. I'ved heard of several others working full time as well.

I’m also going to work full time! I’m able to move back with my parents to help offset the cost (single and no kids) which will help, but looking into a lot of scholarships and the Titian reimbursement programs!

I'm going to be working full time, I have to. Also applying for every scholarship I can possibly find, as well as grad-plus loans. keeping fingers crossed I don't need to do more private loans, I already owe a private loan company 6-figures from my ABSN
