Duke 2016 Nurse Residency Program

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hey everyone! So I realized there wasn't a group for the 2016 Nurse Residency at Duke so I thought I would make a group that we we could all talk about it. My interview is January 15 so I'm pretty nervous but I'm also excited! Feel free to post with any questions or advice!

I have accepted my offer. They gave me a choice of July 11 or July 25 start dates.

I interviewed with CTSICU. Kelly, the manager, was really nice and made me feel comfortable. The clinical lead in my interview was Heather. She was also really nice. Just be yourself and be honest.

That's awesome! congrats! I can't believe my interview date is slowly approaching, I have mixed feelings about it! Lol! How many people interviewed you? Was it a panel, or just the manager?

Just two people, the manager and a clinical lead.

What color scrubs do the Nurses wear at Duke?

Specializes in orthopedic/trauma, Informatics, diabetes.

Which one? :) Not trying to be funny. Duke Raleigh wears Duke blue scrubs-not sure of the colors of ancillary services. There are rumors that since the three hospitals have become one entity, that everything is supposed to be the same at each. Right now, at big Duke, we wear whatever scrubs we like. 5th floor tends to all wear blue. I have noticed more people wearing blue. I had WLS a year ago and am getting ready to go down a size (again!) and asked if I were to replace my scrubs what would be recommended and was told blue. Unofficially.

Sorry to make a short answer long!

Thank you for your response :) I take it you currently work at Duke? I have a interview at Duke University Hospital next week. I am very excited!

All RNs at Duke Raleigh wear galaxy blue.

Hi all,

I interviewed in the beginning of March for the CTSICU and was offered a position. I am from New York so I will be relocating with a start date of August 8th. Does anyone know of any good areas/apartment complexes around Duke University Hospital? Is anyone in search of a potential roommate? This whole process has been so exciting so far and I am looking forward to working at Duke!

Hey ntd16!

First congratulations on the position! I also just accepted a position on the CTSICU with a start date of August 8th and I'm relocating from Massachusetts. I know during my shadow and interview people told me to look at townhouses in Brier Creek that were really nice and not too far from the hospital. I just emailed the woman I interviewed with yesterday because she said she may be able to help find me a roommate! I'm so excited to be working at Duke too!

That is so great! I am also looking for a roommate. Is there a way to direct message on this website? Or is there another way we can communicate (Facebook/email/phone)? I would love to talk more with you about Duke!

Send me an email, [email protected] , then we can get more information from there! I don't think it allows me to direct message on here yet! Soo excited to hear another northern is going down!
