Did they call you to set up an interview or sent you an email?

I'm not sure how much light this sheds on the situation, but I applied to a new grad position about a month and a half ago and got an email to interview about 3 days after the application period closed. I did interview for the position but it was not for my dream job and I didn't get the job (my heart wasn't really in it I think).

So that being said, it can be a quick process but who knows if that situation was the standard.

It seems vague..but it is probably because they are looking for a specific candidate and waiting to see if someone more qualified will apply

Thanks ahalver09!!! I applied for Intensive Care Nursery and Peds Med/Surg I think. I have applied to so many residency programs it is becoming hard to keep track of them all.

No problem! Happy to answer any questions since I've been through an interview there before. Fingers crossed now to get the peds job of my dreams!

Where did you feel you went wrong on your interview? I'm guessing they ask the normal behavioral and situational questions like why you want to work here and describe a time when.....

I hardcore want a PICU job. The interview was for the neuro ICU and I just feel like I didn't put my all into the interview because I felt like it wasn't what I really wanted. It was all behavioral questions and a shadow experience afterwards.

So my situation is really weird....I applied about a month ago but not to the residency app that just closed on the 10th, it was for one that closed on the 17th of October, but I chose both February and January 2015 as possible start dates. then I kept lurking around and read on here folks that had applied at the very beginning of October and had had interviews before I even submitted my application! So I didn't get my heart set on it but I kept checking the application....and then my application status changed to "under recruitment review" last week!!! So that was exciting but....still more waiting! I hope this means I'm in the same consideration pool as you guys who did the application that just closed on the 10th! I'm so confused haha but still so hopeful!

I think I saw your post on another thread, and I was wondering how your status changed so quickly. If it recently has changed, I would assume that they probably are reviewing those they didn't get to review last time before the new applicants.

So I just called nurse recruitment office. They said they were going to start going through applications on Monday. By next week, we should start to hear something!
