Hello everyone,
I decided to start a thread for the Duke University Hospital residency program.
I'm also looking for some advice as well. I'm not 100% sure of the application process, (maybe I'm thinking about other program I've applied to) but I remember being able select our 1st and 2nd choice. I'm pretty sure if this is the case that I selected pediatrics.
Well I just received an email form Duke to interview for the Clinical Transport Team. I'm thrilled to have gotten an interview, but does this mean my application was never forwarded to my choices?
Is anyone else in the same boat?
I used the chat feature to ask last week, and was told that L&D isn't hiring this year. A bunch of my friends were hired to the PICU and NICU in May, so not sure how many spots are left--but definitely go for it if that's what you want. I highly recommend using the Tuesday and Thursday "chats" to ask if you have a specific unit that is your dream job.
So about taking the NCLEX, the NC board of nursing has received and processed my ID document, and my out of state program verification, and my application and all that. I've applied with and paid pearson vue. On the NC nurse gateway, the things that are still unchecked are the criminal background check (which to my understanding doesn't have to be completed to take the test, just has to be done before you can get your license), and then the pearson vue eligibility received, and the other 2 pearson parts right under that. Is there anything else I am supposed to be doing, or am I just waiting on pearson to process my eligibility once the NCBON tells them I'm eligible?
Hey kmb1991! I took the NCLEX yesterday and I passed! Soo excited! I just wanted to say that my background check was completed prior to them issuing me an ATT, so you might want to have that done, you have to have the fingerprints done in order to take the exam too because they scan you when you arrive, I hope that helps and I hope to see you around Duke! I am not relocating, I already live in NC right outside of Durham. I go tomorrow to get my picture taken for my badge and then next Fri to a welcome event. They have a welcome event for the new grads before your Monday start date! I am soo excited!

NICU would be my first choice (and only choice really) but I would be very happy with peds/PICU too! You?
