Hey EMTRN! I applied on December 3rd for a couple positions. I had a phone interview the following week, had another phone interview on the 18th for the critical care float pool and interviewed/shadowed in person on the 20th for the CTICU. I received offers for both positions that same day, so it was pretty quick!
Oh wow! That's a fast turn around! And congratulations on getting offers on both positions! Which did you accept?
I was considering applying for Duke Regional ED as well, and I still may, but University is my #1 choice. Have you done any research for areas to live? My partner and I are planning to head out that way anyway, but we're not to familiar with the area.
Thank you! I accepted the CTICU position. It was $3 less an hour, but I loved shadowing on the unit and the idea of having one unit where I can really get to know my coworkers.
I have heard good things about Duke Regional - I would definitely go ahead and apply there if I were you! I have done a fair amount of research and have some places bookmarked on my computer, but I'm out of town and only have my phone here! I'm hoping a few people who live in the area already will get in here to give those of us coming from other states some suggestions/tips!

Hey everyone! I was just hired as a new grad into the new grad nurse residency program at Duke University Hospital. I live about 8 hours away and I'm hoping to connect with others who will also be starting the program in July! I'm also looking for recommendations on places to live in the Duke/Raleigh area!
