Published

Hey everyone! I was just hired as a new grad into the new grad nurse residency program at Duke University Hospital. I live about 8 hours away and I'm hoping to connect with others who will also be starting the program in July! I'm also looking for recommendations on places to live in the Duke/Raleigh area!

@NMielecki I will be on the Cardiothoracic ICU, what unit will you be on?

Anybody starting July 23rd?

Hello everyone! I did the online interview (I live in FL) and am now moving on to the the in-person interview and shadow experience for the ED. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips or insight on what to expect. How was shadowing?..were they quizzing you during the two hours? About how many questions did the panel interview have? Were there a lot of other people there as well? I'd be grateful for any help and in addition to any nice places to live if I get the position :)

Hi! I'm coming to do the in-inperson interview and shadow later this month and I'm going to check out some places to live while I'm there. I was hoping you or others could share what apartments are affordable and somewhat [email protected] Thanks!

Have you interviewed/Shadowed yet?! Sorry I am just seeing this, most of us have moved over to FB for communication!

Did anybody have an on-demand interview, if so how long did it take for you to hear back?

Hi,

I can help a little. It took about a month for me to hear from anyone after submitting an online application. After that month, I got a phone call/voicemail and an email from a recruiter saying she wanted to speak with me. I called her back she gave me an impromptu but simple phone interview and I set up an in person interview for a couple days later. The interview consisted of me job shadowing on the unit for about 2 hours and then sitting down with the nurse manager and one other nurse. The actual interview was super laid back. No typical "tell me a time when you disagreed with a manager" type interview questions. I asked them when i should expect to hear from them and they told me they were going to offer me the job they just needed to check my references (you need to have 5 references sent to them before the actual interview). Before I made it back to my car I got an email offering me the job. Let me know if you have any questions

@alogsdon11 Heyyy, I will be starting in the CTICU in March. How has your experience been so far? Any advice on the unit or places to live?
