Published

Hey all,

Just wanted to know who is considering going to Duke for their FNP next fall. I know it's still early to apply, but the deadline is just around the corner.

Got mine!

How are you guys prepping for the interview?

I'm doing a phone interview. Per email it states it won't affect the decision process, but I don't think I'm able to fully express myself over the phone. Any thoughts or opinions?

I'm also doing a phone interview, too expensive to go to NC just for an interview. I'm up in Washington state. I have been writing down what kinda of questions I think might be asked, my responses and reviewing my personal statement.

From what I understand (I work at Duke) a lot of the questions elaborate on your personal statement and ask about the particular specialty you are going for. Best of luck!!

Anyone else getting nervous!?

Yup! Playing out scenarios in my head....😳

Practicing answers to "touchy-feely" questions such as:

Name a time you had a problem/conflict and what you did to solve it.

Strengths and weaknesses

What would your coworkers say about you.

And on and on.

Not at all the questions I expected guys! Best of luck!!

Was it more of a informal interview? Getting antsy about it....

I'm also starting to get a little nervous, I have to wait until Thursday! I have at least spent a lot of time talking with the faculty member I am interviewing with via phone and email over the last 4 months. But I still feel very anxious especially since I work the night before the interview!

I felt it was pretty informal.

The questions were pretty basic, all open ended ones.

My interviewer made me feel very comfortable.
