Hey all,
Just wanted to know who is considering going to Duke for their FNP next fall. I know it's still early to apply, but the deadline is just around the corner.

I haven't completed the whole process, but I've paid for the background check. I'm going to finish it today.

Ok thanks OBigdog26
Quick question for students that reside outside of NC. Where will your clinical rotations be performed? From my understanding, the school assigns preceptors, clinical rotations, etc...
Just wondering.

I found my own clinical site. I'm in the neonatal program and they have not had any students in Washington state. I contacted all the hospitals with level III or IV NICU's in my area. I ended up going with my areas Children's hospital and the neonatologists and NNP's staff 4 hospitals in the area. They are 45 mins to almost 2 hours away from my house.
^Oh wow! Thanks!
Hopefully, this thread is helping future NP students out there going to Duke.

My influenza vaccine documentation has been denied since it is from last season. What are you guys putting down for this?
I rec'd mine Sep 2014. I don't know why they need this info since flu is winding down. Mine says awaiting review
Yeah I got mine in 9/2014 as well. Denied and the email said "If vaccination option used and date of review is between April 1st and August 31st, the influenza vaccination provided must be for the upcoming influenza season." So maybe I will just skip this one?
So, I recd that notice as well. How did you proceed?
I'm going to email them and find out since the deadline to complete this is May 15.
I tried to skip and save for later but it still shows incomplete. Let me know what they say to do!
I talked to someone in admissions today, they said the flu vaccine will show incomplete for now. I was told this will not have any affect on the pre-enrollment process. They will send you a notification in the fall when your new flu shot is due.
Are the rest of you planning to do on campus or online orientation? I'm planning on making the trip and doing on campus.
