I have just completed my interview to attend the Post MSN-DNP program at Duke in Spring 2019. I'm looking for others that are going through the process at this time and want to share some moral and professional support. I'd love to meet those who are also waiting to hear from the admissions committee. Thank you!
Hey there!
The application process is quite a process....BUT, WORTH IT!!!
When it comes to the recommendations, be very choosy on the people you ask to represent you. They are lengthy and very specific. These are NOT simply "click a box" recommendations. They are essay questions. So, make sure that you choose people who truly know you and your capabilities.
In the DNP program application, there were three essays to write. Each can only be one page. Before you start your essays, read the criteria carefully. Make lists of the points that you want to answer in the essay. You have to be very clear and concise to show them your worth in just three short essays.
Most of all.....DO IT! Duke is absolutely, without a doubt, the best educational experience I've ever had. The programs are SO well-planned. The theme is success and being a better practitioner. Yes, the tuition is pricey....but, you will be backed up by a degree that says you have been trained by the best.
PLEASE don't hesitate to reach out again if I can help. I am a true believer in this program and am so proud to be part of it!
Thanks so much for your reply! I figured that if Duke has a spot at the table for you, you take it!
I assume it is Competitive, but to what degree? Do you know how many ppl apply and how many are accepted. I was planning to go the Women’s Health route with a concentration in Infertility. I saw that Duke is on the forefront of that area, and that’s what got me interested.
I have an application in at another school, however....it is April. The deadline was 12/15 and I haven’t heard anything. This raises a few concerns for me in terms of their organizational skills. I would have applied to Duke initially, but they had the GRE requirement and I would have to take it as I missed the requirement by .03 points. I saw the other day that the GRE is no longer required.
I’m excited to learn more about the program, and any insight you or anyone has is much appreciated!
Hey everyone, I applied for the DNP program for spring 2020. I graduated from Dukes FNP program. Just curious how the interview questions go if anybody could shed some light on what to expect. Thank you and congrats to those who got in.I applied but I am still debating on whether I want to pursue the program or not.
Thanks again Lisa

Hey! I'm in Long Beach and just got accepted to Duke but I'm curious about how successful they are with finding clinical placements out here. Have you encountered any issues with them or the program? Thanks!
