  1. Yes! Apply! I also had poor grades at one point and they truly do look at your trend.....and where you are at this point. I'm in my third semester and have found amazing support. They look at each of us as individuals with individual stories.
  2. Hey there! The application process is quite a process....BUT, WORTH IT!!! When it comes to the recommendations, be very choosy on the people you ask to represent you. They are lengthy and very specific. These are NOT simply "click a box" recommendations. They are essay questions. So, make sure that you choose people who truly know you and your capabilities. In the DNP program application, there were three essays to write. Each can only be one page. Before you start your essays, read the criteria carefully. Make lists of the points that you want to answer in the essay. You have to be very clear and concise to show them your worth in just three short essays. Most of all.....DO IT! Duke is absolutely, without a doubt, the best educational experience I've ever had. The programs are SO well-planned. The theme is success and being a better practitioner. Yes, the tuition is pricey....but, you will be backed up by a degree that says you have been trained by the best. PLEASE don't hesitate to reach out again if I can help. I am a true believer in this program and am so proud to be part of it!
  3. Where are you from?? I'm soooooo looking forward to this program!
  4. That's great news!! I'm so excited for all of us!!!
  5. Yesssss!!!!! Congratulations!
  6. Awesome!! Congrats! I got in for DNP! So excited for everyone!
  7. I'm in!!! Please let me know when you hear!!!!
  8. My Duke website changed this morning. There is now a link that says Decision Not Ready. I'll let you know if it changes. I'm refreshing my page every hour! STILL holding my breath! Let me know if you hear anything!!
  9. Yes! Thank you! Good luck to you and, hopefully, we'll both be posting happy comments soon! Have a great weekend.
  10. I think that is because we have applied to different programs. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause confusion I'm sure that there are different committees for each focus and that each one will be discussed separately. I'm sorry!!!
  11. I'm sure you're right. I'll bet each program coordinator has their own committee meeting. It'll be so nice when we all know!
  12. I am right there over analyzing with you! I got an email today confirming that the Admission's Committee would be meeting on August 13th. From there, the decisions are sent to the Admission's office and we will be notified after that. I'm sorry if you also got the email and I'm repeating what you already know. At least, I can now stop checking and refreshing my Duke Account every hour! Good luck to everyone!
  13. I completely agree. That's the same reason I didn't make mention, either. Stay in touch and good luck!!
  14. And other than the jungle-like behavior of the birds, I felt good about the experience.
  15. The Director was very gracious and, obviously, a highly educated and articulate professional. During the interview, I had a cockatiel incident. Yes, I said cockatiel. I have two OLD birds that haven't chirped in years. They are usually silent. Well, when the interview started....they went freaking nuts. I'm talking Jurassic Park nuts. As soon as the interview was over, they were silent again and haven't made a peep. I was so embarrassed that I missed important key points that I wanted to discuss. I looked at them after it was over and threatened the crockpot!! It sounded like a dinosaur was loose in my house. But, I did apologize and explain that this was soooo unusual. Did she happen to mention how many were being interviewed? Where are you from? I'm so excited to meet someone else at this point! Gina
