I was just wondering if anyone has applied to Duke for one of their graduate programs for Spring of 2018? I chose to go the BSN-DNP w/ FNP track route. Now I am patiently waiting for applications to close and interviews to go out. I would love to connect with other students who are applying! Also I would love to hear feedback from any current or past students. Thanks!
Glad to hear you are on your way to an interview! Please let me know how it goes.
I received an email today saying my application was not complete. It was weird because it has been marked complete since late April! I emailed and called, and the lady said that it was a mistake. I wonder if this mistake cost me an interview?? I asked her if I should be hearing about an interview but she just wished me luck. To say the least, I was frustrated and disappointed. But...I am a person of faith and I have just have to believe things will work out the way they need to. I would love to start the program, but if its not meant to be, there are other programs!
That's a great way to look at things! I tell myself the same thing, I'll give 100% to my interview and what's meant to be will be. That's really weird though! Maybe send an email also and it get to someone else? Just to double check! I wish you the best of luck and please keep us updated! I booked my interview for the 17th.
I did they said roughly 1 for every 4 they interview usually gets an offer. I just was expecting them to also ask us why we chose the specialty we chose and stuff about the reasons why we wanted to do that specific field. They did tell me these were blind interviews and they hadn't read our essays... which I thought was really weird, so they didn't really know much besides what we told them.
Yeah, I was expecting that too. It was much more vague. The person who interviewed me asked me what my specialty was because she did not have my application in front of her. I think the interview was probably mainly to establish what we are like as people and nurses in general/ how we interact professionally. Thanks for asking. 1/4 chances is pretty scary.
