Duke AGNP Spring 2017

Hello everyone! Has anyone else applied to the AGNP program at Duke for the Spring 2017? I think I am more nervous applying to grad school than I was when I sat for my NCLEX!

I'm so sorry!! My flight was scheduled to leave at 7 am tomorrow but I was able to cancel it. I am so disappointed also. I was really looking forward to going to campus and meeting everyone and getting questions answered. Hopefully we will be doing the same on campus things this summer together and can meet up. I'm so sorry you are stuck there.

Hi Bonnie: I'm so glad that you were able to cancel in time what a relief. I have a quick question for you. When I go on Sakai, I can't see any links to the classes I'm taking this term. Are you able to see your classes. I'm just getting nervous now that classes start Wednesday. I'm just not sure if I'm missing something or if the professors haven't posted our class links yet. Thanks so much

I think they haven't posted yet. I'm hoping they will do the online orientation on Tuesday so that we can ask questions and they can go over stuff. I'm going to watch the orientation videos they sent links to tomorrow and check out Sakai again. I'll let you know if I am able to see my classes.

I just got an email with a draft version of the syllabus and course calendar for NURS 580! The prof said the course will post on Sakai on Wednesday..

Did you guys get any info on any of the other courses for first semester?

Also, do you all have facebook? Maybe we should create a group or something so we can share helpful info. Any thoughts?

Also, sooo sorry to hear about you being stuck, pana82! I was able to cancel my flight just in time! And it really is a bummer that we won't have an in-person orientation. I was also really looking forward to going to campus and meeting everyone..

love the idea of a Facebook group! I haven't received any emails from professors yet but I'm assuming we might get more info tomorrow hopefully. Pana82, safe travels tomorrow home.

Hi Kanhosa and BonnieP---Tonight is my last night here in Durham. I sent an email to the program director and mentioned I was here and a faculty member answered my email she said Duke Nursing was closed today and will be tomorrow due to ice. I walked around campus today, saw the outside of the Nursing school, went to the bookstore, and looked at the hospital. There was some ice but nothing i'm not used to in Utah. The campus is amazing and beautiful. One good thing is that I kind of mapped out everything for when we come again in the fall. I stayed at the Marriott Courtyard near Duke it is literally blocks away, super friendly staff. I think I will stay here all the time because its so convenient. I can start a facebook page right now, I have time since I'm just in the hotel waiting to fly out tomorrow. I'll post when its done, this way we can keep in touch. The faculty member said if the syllabus aren't posted on Sakai by tomorrow to reach out to the professors. Unlike you Kanhosa my professors haven't posted anything yet. I'm nervous school starts Wednesday and I'm not sure whats going on...I think there are no books do either of you know?

I got my notifications as well. I understand we cannot get into anything until Wed. I will look for the FB page. Yes there is a book list. message me i can get it to you or FB group. From what I can tell I actually think we really start next Monday

Thanks for doing that!

I requested to join the fb group~ please add me! :)

Also, here's our textbook list for this semester:

I got most of my books on rental through Amazon. The only one I ended up buying was the pathophysiology book, since I know that's gonna require a lot of highlighting and note taking lol

Hello Ladies,

I wish I knew this thread existed months ago. I stumbled upon this thread yesterday when I was frantically researching about classes and enrollment last night when I realized classes start in a day and I had still heard nothing from my professors.

I am also in the AGNP Spring 2017 cohort specializing in HIV/AIDS. I still do not see any of my courses listed on Sakai, is anyone on the same boat?

I also requested to join the FB group as well.

Naomi
