Based on last year's responses, some folks have started receiving their offers in late July. When is Duke days this year? That would depend on when and if it will happen this year.

Ah! The anticipation is so real!

So I’m working on my CSS profile and I’m confused on why it asks so much about your parents income. Is that how they’re gonna determine aid? Based on your parents income?

No but they look at that as well. See below...

Both the CSS Profile and FAFSA calculate your expected family contribution, but each could produce a different result because they use different methodologies. Here’s how the CSS Profile determines aid:

• More information is considered. The CSS Profile collects more detailed information about your family’s finances and considers assets that the FAFSA doesn’t, including home equity, and the value of family farms and small family businesses.

• Your school may have unique questions. Colleges that use the CSS Profile can also add customized questions and adjust the formula they use for determining aid.

• Divorced parents’ income may be used. Some schools that use the CSS Profile collect income information for both parents even if they’re divorced or separated and don’t live together. The FAFSA only considers one parent’s income in those circumstances.

I know that they look at it. Not sure if it’s used to determine your aid or not though. It’s been a hassle getting that information.

I have not even started my FAFSA -- What if I don't get accepted in the program to all the schools that I've applied? I know with the deadline just around the corner, I am concerned that I may not even get in...*sigh*

I need your advice folks! Ugh! The anticipation is driving me insane....LOL.

I'm right there with you.. the anticipation is driving me nuts! I'm going to try to get the FAFSA and CSS Profile done this week. Both require a lot of information. I suggest you try to get it done as soon as possible.

anyone else obsessively checking their application to see a status change even though you logically know it's not going to change from "ready for review" for a while...just me? k.

No - you are not the only one! I usually check it everyday! LOL. If everything goes well, we should hear back from them in late June -- that's just my estimate based on last year's thread responses...

I totally check it everyday ?
