Dubai/uae

Published

Hi Everyone,

I have noticed that in the past little while, there have been some recent posts about the UAE. I am hoping that someone out there can answer some of my questions.

My husband is an electrical engineer. He thinks that his job may be transferred to the UAE in the upcomming September. This news is quite new to us. A little frightening actually.

I however, am completing the final year of my Canadian BScN degree. By the time he has to leave, I will be finished my degree. We are both Canadian citizens.

Here are some of my questions ... . . . .

1. Is it possible for a new nursing graduate to get a job in the UAE? I've noticed that most jobs seem to be for experienced nurses.

2. I will not need the benefit of accomadation as this is included for us in my husbands benefit package. Is it possible to get extra pay to compensate for this benefit?

3. What is the work schedule like - 6 days a week? Can a nurse pick between day and night shifts?

4. The all famous question..... What is the salary/benefit package like?

Any help with my questions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello everybody. I have a question for nurses in Dubai.

What interview does the nurse have when he (she) applies to DOHMS assessment? Does anybody have some information about the questions there? Is it hard to pass them?

Thanks beforehand.

Anyone knows something about radiography and radiotherapy salaries and conditions in UAE?

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

I doubt it as this is a nursing board not one for radiography

Well if they working in medicine anyway they can know about collegues.Well i know in Emirates they paying you by passport you have or school you attended,i mean by country.I still dont get how someone from USA can get more paid in UAE coz by everything i saw nurses get there like 2000$ if they are lucky, some even less

Not necessarily, Ididn't know what my collegues was earning, sometimes it can be a requirement from the employer not to discuss things like wages. I have seen reports that US and EU nurses got paid more than others, not sure 100% why but think it has more to do with recruitment and experience. I hate to say it but may also be discrimination

Well its definitly discrimination and i know that they pay almost double USA and european nurses for same job as asian, just i still didnt saw wages which would show me that USA and European nurses can earn more in UAE than home

And i still cant find connection to understand how its good to go there to work coz if i see good nurses getting 1000-2000$ per month so i dont get how that is better than USA

We do not know what others are making in salary in our own facilities, it is not something that is discussed. And the US is quite large, and salaries can vary greatly.

What a country wishes to do is their business, and has nothing to do with the US or any other country. If you want to go there, then great. But again as we have stated over and over again, this site is for nurses. We do have have any of the information that you are seeking.
