Ok. Here goes. So I had to go to the ER for a flare up of my Rheumatoid arthritis. They gave me Nubain, phenergan both IMx2. I am not on any meds for my RA at home due to change in insurance. So I was in horrible pain yesterday and took my sister's Gabapentin. And of course I get called for a random drug screen. Of course it's going to be positive. I know I will be accused of diversion, and terminated. My questions are many but just want to know if this means I will lose my license? Any help appreciated.

I don't recall ever seeing neurontin on a drug screen panel. I wouldn't panic yet.

From what I know neurontin doesn’t show up

Just to be safe, prepare a letter explaining what happened and what you learned from it. Increase your meetings, and DON’T DO IT AGAIN. Be proactive and be ready!

Are you already in a monitoring program? Or did your work place do the random urine drug screen?

Gotcha. Hang in there . From what I’ve heard Neurontin won’t show up on a drug screen. If it were me I would wait on the results of the drug screen before I admitted to anything. I’m familiar with Benadryl showing a false positive but not Neurontin. Keep us updated! Praying all turns out well for you ?

Gabapentin definitely will not show up on a basic panel UDS.

Just relax about that. But you do need to get a script for it if you need it.
