Lippincott Drug Handbook

Saunder's Nursing Drug Handbook

Medical Dictionaries

Stedman's concise medical dictionary with audio CD

Taber's cyclopedic Medical dictionary

Mosby Medical Nursing and Allied Healthy Dictionary

Thanks for any and all advice

Welcome!

Did your school tell you which to purchase of all of them? I had purchased one of each last year before I was accepted to nursing school, and now have to purchase the titles they want. :(

Yes the 6 I mentioned above(3 of each) are the ones our school said to choose from. thanks

I have Davis' drug guide and Tabers is excellent. They are both requirements for our school but they are both very informative and helpful. I also purchased drug cards. We had the choice to make them or buy them. I didn't want to make a 1000 of them especially since they are only 40 dollars and I highlight the info needed. Good luck to you. BTW I just finished the first semester of LPN school with 3 B's and 2 A's. Nancy

congradulations on your start of nursing school. Don't listen to anyone with war stories. Nursing school is a wonderful, and challenging experience. I loved it and did it with 3 kids. As far as the books go I am a lippincott and taber lover but it is true they are a lot a like.

Hi Congratulations on starting. I just completed my first semester and I went through 3 drug guides before I settled on Davis. As far as the medical dictionary I SWEAR by Mosby that you listed. It is like an encyclopedia and there were times when I found info ONLY in that book. Good luck with your journey. I have 3 kids of my own. (12, 9, and 8). :p
