what was your GPA before going into school. And if you had a high GPA how many classes did you take a semester if your GPA was low how many classes did you take per semester. In your class is it more likely people drop out do to age young vs older students, or is illness pregnancies or other outside issues occur such as family issues

I am working on prereqs (only one semester left of them woohoo!) and I have a 48 credit hours total and a 4.0 GPA. It is typical for the classes at my university to start with 35 students and the usually end with around 15. People drop due to the difficultly of the course. An "A" is 91% and above. The professors rarely offer extra credit and do not usually round grades. I take 12 credits a semester. Next semester I will be taking 14 (2 labs... Eek!).
I schedule times to study different material with frequent breaks. Also, I schedule work outs because I go crazy if I dont hit the gym. Exercising really helps me focus in class and during study time.
Good luck to you!!

I usually take 14 or more credits per semester. I seem to do better with a lot of classes. I have a 3.9 but soon to be 4.0 because I retook a class that was to old and I made a A this time and had a B the first time. I have 60 credits. I start the nursing program this fall:) so really how well you do it up to you. I tried to treat every class like it was important for my patient. It has worked for me, good luck to you:)

I had a 4.0 in pre era's only, I was not the traditional student, I'm 29 and just about to finish what I started when I was 18. Back then I was doing the bare minimum because I didn't know what I wanted to do and ended u dropping out. So to answer this question and also in addition to your other thread, once I became motivated and knew what I wanted I was pulling A's in all my pre req's (it's a competeive program). If you want it bad enough you work for it you will be fine. Once you get your first semester under your belt you will understand why people are telling you not to worry about a teacher inflating your grades on pre req's. And as far as dropping classes, this isn't an option once you get into school, most schools will only let you retake ONE class and after that you are out for good unless you get into another program somewhere else. I wish there was a way I could assure you that you are worrying yourself over nothing but until you see for yourself I'm sure this is falling on deaf ears. I wish you the best.
Thank you! I really appreciate all if this

I had a 4.3 (average of 97%) for my prereqs and for my CNA. I took 18 credit semesters first year of Bsn and my gpa dropped to 3.9.We had 4 people leave our program in first year. One dropped out halfway thru semester one bc she hadn't done any of her papers and had no hope of passing. She also rarely showed up for classes. Two people left bc of personal circumstance that prevented them from being in the program and another failed my a smidge. I think the people that flunked out we're too young and immature to take the work seriously enough. There were students that came close to failing but they buckled down, asked for help and did what was necessary to scrape by with a passing grade.
I figured all you had to do is do the work

My starting GPA was 3.7 and my GPA now is still a 3.7. I'm not sure if you consider that high or low but I'll answer your question anyhow. I took all my gen ed's and pre-req's part time. I've had 1 part time nursing semester and 2 full time ones. We have only lost maybe 3-5 of our students from our class of 72 and one was because he was an ESL studenta nd just really struggled with the language and that was really a shame and they others I'm not sure because honestly my numbers may be off and we may have lost even less then that. The otehr person that I know dropped for sure was someone who was passing but kept getting C's which brought his GPA below the required GPA.

I usually took 9-10 credits per semester while working full time. The most I took was 12 units and that almost killed me, it was way too much with work. My gpa before the nursing program was 4.0

Mine was abut 3.25 I believe, but Im a post Bach student. A lot of the people who dropped, were younger students....several found that it wasn't what they were interested in, several failed out.
Very helpful guys
