Drexel University ACE Spring 2011

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Anyone out there has applied or is applying to the ACE class beginning Spring 2011? Anyone waiting to hear from admissions for now?

If any of you would like to take over as administrator of the FB group, let me know. I don't plan to attend Drexel any more.

What is your FB name? What is your FB page?

Why do you not plan to be at any longer?

For those that were accepted. What was your GPA, did you have your required classes done before applying, what grades did you get on science classes? Any suggestions on getting accepted?

Thanks

I was accepted for spring, my prereq GPA is @ 3.8, overall 3.3. Missing ethics & nutrition, micro was in progress when I applied and they held off on a decision until I provided them a new official transcript reflecting a final micro grade. I have A's in all my sciences. I suspect they really place a lot of weight on the science considering they did not issue a decision until my micro grade was final, so rock those science prereqs! (They might also hold off on a decision if you submit a transcript showing any of your prereqs are in progress when you apply, in which case then it could go either way. The more prereqs done the better). That's about all the advice I can offer on that, considering that your grades are all they take into account for admissions at this school.

I have not sent in my decision to accept or decline their offer yet, waiting to see my financial aid award letter first, still waiting for that.

I had a 3.4 in my first degree, 4.0 in pre-reqs (nutrition, microbiology, A&P I, II). Most of the other pre-reqs were included in my first degree, except ethics, public speaking, developmental psych and chemistry. But I've chosen to attend the FACT program instead. Good luck to all!

Hello all,

For those accepted and planning on attending, it looks like we need to either enroll or waive the student health insurance by Sept. 30th or else we are automatically charged. Does that apply to us? Also, it looks like we might be charged for 2 academic years. Since I won't be a student until March, I don't want to pay for coverage until then. I've e-mailed , but I'm waiting on a response. Does anyone have any info on that?

Much appreciated!

Have decided not to attend , after seeing my aid letter and potential loan borrowing it's going to be way too expensive :( ... I will try my luck (or my credentials, whatever walks the walk :D ) on a school more within my means, particularly a state university. Good luck everyone!

Aww sorry to hear that Paco. Good luck! My financial aid award letter was embarrassing too. I have no clue how I'm going to pay for yet. I going to have a long talk with the financial aid office soon.

Good luck, SoAnxious! I would have gone a step further to see what else I could have done but in the larger scheme of things it comes down to how much I would have had to borrow (I have enough out already with 2 prior degrees, more so because of my grad degree tho). The award letter was only for ONE semester. If I had to borrow that for a year I would have considered it but even then it would have been a stretch. A little bummed abourt turning Drexel down, but it was for the best. No doubt it's a good program, if only Powerball would have come through, LOL!

Did anyone else get an email confirming their change of major for the Spring Quarter? It doesn't say anything about what it was changed to.. I thought it was kinda weird

Just visited Philly this past week for the first time! I LOVED IT! I am so ecstatic!

Quick question, on my financial aid it states that the tuition is $19k??? I'm confused...........

That is the tuition for your first "year" so to speak. You have to re-fill out all of your paperwork/FASFA/etc each school year and each year you get a new financial aid letter.
