Drexel University ACE Spring 2011

Anyone out there has applied or is applying to the ACE class beginning Spring 2011? Anyone waiting to hear from admissions for now?

Not to forget New Jersey, yes there are clinicals there too.

Hi everyone! I'm going to start the program in Spring 2011.

For all of you looking for a place to live that might be a little cheaper than Philly...I suggest Collingswood. It's in New Jersey and is close to the PATCO train that takes you into Philly. I assume all of our classes are on the Center City campus where Hahnemann hospital is and it is really close to the train.

Also, is the program 40 K only if it includes housing costs? Or am I reading the Financial Aid Award paper completely wrong....?

I'm sure that's the cost of the program without housing.

Are you sure? Don't you look at the total unmet need to figure out how much you are paying?

My assumption was that the $19,000 they are charging in tuition is for the 2011 school year. My guess is that we'll get a similar bill for 2012 since we are split over 2 academic years. Is that right?

It better not be!!! I'm going to call monday and ask. The program is less than a year...so 38 K in tuition alone does not sound right.

Seems to me like it could be right, see here: http://www.drexel.edu/undergrad/financing/break-down/hs-tuition/

Wow.......You are probably right. This is such BS. :( :(

Yeah 38k is right for the 11 month program for tuition only. There's also 2k in "fees". This price does not include housing, books, or medical supplies.

Hi everyone! My name is Carly and I will be attending for the ACE program this spring with everyone! I am really looking forward to it but at the same time trying to enjoy the lack of stress in my life right now the 11 months of craziness commences!

The biggest thing on my mind right now about the program is housing- was anyone else floored by how much it costs to live in Center City? Ideally I'd like to live in center city because it would be incredibly convenient for classes and theres a lot to do nearby, but at the same time, I'm not sure I will be able to afford it. Anyone have any suggestions? Or anyone looking for a roommate? Let me know and maybe we can go apartment hunting together sometime soon!

I look forward to seeing most of you in March! :)

Hi Erica- I'm looking for a roommate! Have you done any apartment searching yet? Are you planning on living in Center City or in other areas? Let me know what you're thinking if you're interested. But you're right, housing in Philly it definitely not cheap!

Hey Carly! I am still looking for a roommate and I'm looking in the areas of fairmount and center city. Only issue is I have a small puppy that is coming with me. I am going to go down around October again to look around; let me know when you are going, maybe we can meet up and go look around together.
