Anyone out there has applied or is applying to the ACE class beginning Spring 2011? Anyone waiting to hear from admissions for now?
I'll be living at my parents during the program..good thing is that it saves money...but it's Jersey, but only about a 10 min commute via train....so overall not too bad...i think I'll have to find some quieter places for those late nights of studying.
Also, if anyone is NOT opposed to living NJ...let me know, I think my sister has been looking to rent out a room in her house...just throwing it out there.
Hello and congradulations to everyone who got in!!! My name is Erica and I also was accepted into the program! I am originally from Manhattan and I am wondering about the living situation around campus. Someone told me a 1 bedroom can cost upwards of 1200 a month in center city. What areas are you guys moving too? Also is anyone looking for a roommate?
Hi emcarder,
I'm also moving from the NYC area and am looking for a one bdr or studio. You can look in various areas of the city in order to find cheaper rent, but Center City will be pricey. Since you're not far away, take a train or Megabus ride down there to check it out.
Congratulations, all!
I currently live a bit outside of the city, but am moving to the Wayne area (Chesterbrook). It is still in suburb land, but has easy train access to the city. I couldn't give up the open space / parks of the burbs. It will be about a 35 minute train ride or so into the city, but easy access to the highways for those sites that we will have to drive to. I figure time on the trian can be used to study.
Hi everyone, I got accepted to the drexel Spring 2011 ABSN program. Congratulations to all of you who got accepted, and to those who are awaiting replies, goodluck to all of you. I look forward to meeting everyone !
If anyone else got accepted, i have couple questions:
1. i still have pre-reqs that need to be done and they will be done by dec. do you know if that is ok?
2. also, any suggestions on housing?
i am moving from California so this will be a major change for me.
Thank you all !

i think the pre-reqs need to be completed by january 15th; at least that’s what i think it said in the packet peggy sent me.
i went down to philly last weekend to look at the different areas. all the areas in philly seem to go from really nice to kind of dangerous. if you want to be right next to the university; look at university city. it seemed like the closer to the campus you are the safer it is. the area around university of penn also seems a little safer than the area outside drexel. i looked at the fairmount area which was very nice; it’s about a 20 minute drive with morning traffic. logan square, society hill and center city (and areas around them) were nice and i felt pretty safe there. the rents were a little high but if you were planning on having a roommate they seemed reasonable. in my personal opinion the more north and the more south i went from center city the sketchier the area. i currently live in a big city now and how safe i feel is very important to me; i feel that it may have swayed me away from some areas that i dont know enough about.
what part of cali are you from?
thank you very much emcarder. i will look into those areas.
i am from los angeles, ca.

I just paid my deposit! Eeeeeeee!!! See you all in March. Any tips on finding housing? I've never been to Philly and I'm in California...is Center City the area I should be looking?
