Drexel Univ ACE Program

Published

Hey! I noticed that someone requested information on this program. I start Drexel's accfelerated BSN program in March and was just wondering how it is - if anyone has graduated from the program and has any info, opinions, suggestions... I'd love to hear about it! Feel free to write me a PM also! Thanks!

Hi Piper,

Study groups are the buzz. Do you participate in study groups? If so, how do you divy up the work? Group size? If not using study groups what works for you? Day one tomorrow...

I tried study groups in the 2nd quarter and it really didn't work out for me. There was just too much work to cover in a group setting. I think 3-4 people is a good size. Hopefully you can stay focused.

Bleah ... does the quarter start tomorrow already?? Eleven more weeks ....

I heard you guys have to use a PDA in clinicals. What kind of cases do you use to protect it and keep it in your pocket?

Hello- I graduated in 9/04 and we had a group of 3 to study just b4 midterms and finals. I know others who used to split up the chapter readings and everyone made notes of their chapters and then gave it to their group. That didn't work for me- I had to read the ch. myself to get a handle on it. But I did like the study group b/c I would sometimes think I understood a concept and then hear it verbalized differently would understand better and also remember it better. I do reccommend sharing careplans to make your workload a little more manageable this semester. Good luck everyone on semester 2 or those of you who are on the home stretch!!

The school gave to us a metal case called RhinoSkin. It comes with a removable clip. I clip the PDA in my labcoat and it stays all day during clinical.

Hey Piper,

I am going to enter ACE this fall and was wondering about buying books. I am noticing that a lot of current ACE students are saying that you don't really need to buy the books because everything you are tested on and learn is off of the powerpoint presentations that the professors given. I am a little nervous about not buying books but really would like to save the money. Can you do well in the program and get a really good GPA by just studying the lecture notes and the notes? Please let me know, thanks so much!
