Hey! I noticed that someone requested information on this program. I start Drexel's accfelerated BSN program in March and was just wondering how it is - if anyone has graduated from the program and has any info, opinions, suggestions... I'd love to hear about it! Feel free to write me a PM also! Thanks!

Yeah, I'll be there this March also. It'll be a challenging program, definitely a lot of time-management. I think it's a good option if you're willing to endure the intensity. I'll post whatever I find out. Feel free to PM. Good luck!

I graduated this past October from the ACE program, what do you want to know?? Come up with a list of specific questions, PM me and I'll be happy to answer them. Be prepared to work hard. The info. itself is not hard but the sheer volume makes keeping up with everything difficult. Be in charge of your own learning, and don't be afraid to ask for help. Keep a cool head because by the 4th month, everyone starts to get really tense and stressed out. Oh, by the way, GOOD LUCK!!!
Thank you for the advice. I'll think up some & PM you soon. It sounds like if you discipline yourself with time management and commit you can do well. A cruch of a year I suppose it will be.

Me too! I start in March. I hear we'll all be spending so much time together that we'll be like family.

Hello fellow ACE students. I am in the 3rd quarter ACE right now and graduate in September (god-willing). Don't let anyone scare you. It is totally possible and you do learn a lot. You do have to do most of the readings to pass the tests, especially for Adult Health. They try to make the tests NCLEX oriented but the problem is they don't teach that way. You'll see for yourselves. But, don't let anyone scare you, especially the professors. I personally do not study all weekend (and am getting good grades & clinical reviews) and have had time for fun but it is exhausting during the week! Let me know if you have any questions! Best of luck to you. :) :)

I did apply to Drexel but actually have not heard back yet...I keep meaning to call them but was accepted to my first choice but I still am curious. I applied then had not heard anything-then called and my application was marked incomplete because my references were not in-well, supposedly for the ACE program you do not need references. They then checked me off as complete but have not heard a thing. They seem kind of disorganized to me..

I heard a few days ago that they have too many people for the program starting this fall. I just sent an update for transcripts so I plan on speaking with the admissions office again to find out the truth...
I'm a first quarter student and I'm really glad that this quarter is half-way over. 1/8 done! I agree with what nursing04 said. Here are some other helpful hints and info:
1. Drexel is extremely disorganized, but it's all over in 11 months.
2. Class attendance is MANDATORY. Three absenses and you're out of the program. For boring lectures, I sit in the back with my study group.
3. Like nursing04 said, you will learn a lot and have free time. Don't believe the hype.
4. They'll tell you that diagnosis is not the nurses "job" but most of the exam questions are diagnosis questions.
5. Most of the material is easy to understand, but there's lots of it. It's all about time management.
6. Study from NCLEX-RN practice books. Very helpful.
Feel from to PM me if you have any specific questions about the program.
Piper, are they actually taking attendance, how is that enforced?? Wow, that seems harsh to me!! I skipped pharm class all the time cause the prof just read her notes.... I could get the same info. from the book....
