I just graduated on May 10th and was told by my school that it would be a good idea to take the Drexel University Review course that they were holding at my school. We started the program today and it was TERRIBLE!!!! We spent the first hour reading out of a book and answering questions. When we went to review them, the teacher couldn't even tell us why the answers that were correct actually were correct. She would just answer, "Well this is the right answer because it is." We even had to correct her on math that she calculated wrong!! After 2 1/2 hours I couldn't take it any more, so me and 3 other students left the class.
Does anyone have any input on this program? Am I the only one that thought it was bad? I called the company today to ask for a refund and the Director of the program was extremely rude and told me that apparently I am the first person to ever complain about the program and that my opinion was invalid and that my accusations were unproven! I couldn't believe he said this to me!!!
Just a note - if you plan on taking a review class, make sure you look at their money back guarantee! Kaplan may be a bit more expensive, but if you don't pass the NCLEX then you get your money back. Not that way with Drexel. The only way you get your money back is if you cancel the class 5 days before it starts!

Hi, I am the "Director" referred to in the previous message.
First, let me clear-up an inaccuracy. Drexel University offers a refund to ANY student who takes our NCLEX REVIEW Course and then fails the exam. I think all review courses offer this.
And just like all other courses, we do not allow people to "pull out" of the course at the last minute. I'm sure that Kaplan and all other NCLEX Prep Courses will not allow you to walk out with full refund after giving the class a just 2-and-a-half hours out of 30+.
The teacher referred to in this message is highly regarded and has high evaluations after years of teaching for us. We have a terrific pass rate for our students and hope you'll realize that not everyone can be satisfied.
Tom -
I am extremely surprised to see that you have the audacity to respond to my public forum after the way you spoke to me on the phone. This forum was a way for me to express my concerns publicly since you were so adament that my concerns were invalid.
I find it very hard to believe that you and your company have this amazing reputation since I know first hand that you don't even return customers phone calls when they call to complain about your program.
Please believe that this is not an attack on you, just my way of expressing my frustration to losing out on $235 of hard earned money, from someone who has been in nursing school full time for 2 years, and doesn't have that kind of money to throw away.
I understand that not everyone can be satisfied, but the fact that you did not give my concerns a second thought, nor the concerns of the other students in my class that called you to complain, shows me that you AND your company have no regard for customer service or the customer themselves. As a matter of fact, a good friend of mine called after I did, and was given a blanket statement that there were to be no refunds given to my class who attended the program at my school, showing that you have absolutely no interest in making a group of nursing students feel better after feeling like they've been ripped off.
As per our conversation, you made it quite clear to me, that the only refund your company gives is for canceling the program 5 days prior to the start. I just hope that no other nursing student has to be put in the tough predicament that you put me and my fellow students in.
As for your instructor, whom you say has a great reputation, maybe she was just having an off day. Regardless, I felt, along with many other students in my class, that the instruction and review we were given was NOT what we payed for and was considered a complete waste of time. Like I stated to you on the phone, sitting through 3 days of the 4 day course would only have been a further waste of my time. Luckily, I was able to attend some hours of work to try and make up for the $235 that I lost to you and your company. Although I am not even close to fullfilling that, I still 100% back my decision to remove myself from your review class.

I too am an unsatisfied customer of the Drexel review course. My attempts to contact the personnel have been unsuccessful since Monday, May 22, 2006. During my last attempt to contact the director I was told that if I'm calling about a refund I'm not getting one. I was also told that my registration paperwork would be mailed out on the 24th (the 2nd to last day of the class) which would clarify the guidelines of the class. I was also told that if I wanted my money back I would have had to contact them 5 days prior to the beginning of the class. (Had I known it was going to be this bad why would I have signed up?????????). I must say as my final thought that I am glad that the director can post on this forum but as for a phone call back----I am still waiting!!!!

Hey Tom! Maybe u should take the time to read the MANY threads about complaints about the drexel program before regarding highly of the people that teach it........Of course, as a director, your gonna say how great the program is because its money in your pocket...
But the majority speaks!!!!!!!
