Just to add to my post... If there is an ERI rep that comes to your school during the review course and promotes her "own program" called STARTING POINT... She is NOT allowed to do that. I contacted ERI already and they are forwarding my emails to the appropriate people. She basically promoted Starting Point additionaly during the time she was supposed to be teaching ERI course....eri has no links to her program nor did they have no knowledge she was promoting this while she was going to schools to teach the review course.

NOT even close... even did the pre-rn exam... and kaplan blows this out of water!!!!!!! not a good predictor for passing the nclex either....definitely a waste of time. Tell me how the only guy that scored SUPERIOR on this exam flunked the nclex and a bunch of people flunked the exam, passed the nclex its first try?

my school claims that these tests are good with predicting who will pass the nclex tell me how the ONLY guy who scored superior on this exam flunked the nlex with the max question?? and on top of that...like 90% of the class flunked this exam the first time and still, people were able to pass the nlex the first time??.... i have a friend who scored 50% taking this exam and she passed the nclex with no problem...i dont think its THAT good of a predictor....

ERI review course was a total waste of time on top of that...the rep that came to our school promoted her "own program" claiming all that people that took it had a 100% pass rate. She says most people passed with 75 questions. i bought into the idea because of that high pass rate...and addition...it was only $150 biggest mistake ever!!!!! i shouldve done my research before signing up for it...it was too good to be true... to make a long story short... i ended up flunking the nclex the first time...wait 45 days...and paid another $200 to take it again...and paid $300 for kaplan.... Advice: If it sounds too good to be true...it usually is!!!!!!!!!! Go with something established and known to help many. Thank God for Kaplan!!!!! oh..and i just wanted to add that out of 7 people that signed up for her course....about 5 flunked the nclex......nice huh!!!

my school uses this...supposedly, it will predict who will pass the nclex the only guy who scored 'superior' flunked the nclex with 265 i took the pre-rn test...the rationales/breakdown were no good. everybody pretty much hated it and signed up for kaplan for additonal sources to pass the nclex.

I'm getting kinda worried...looked for her program under the BBB and nothing...googled it...nothing....no internet address.....no physical address either.............. i tried to call my instructor and tell her about our situation and she just flat out says....'well most programs dont do refunds anyways'.....um...but this lady tells me about her "written policy about refunds"....yet we have never seen it, signed anything nor she mentioned in during her promotion of her program??? i think we have been duped

Just adding an update... I spoke to one of the instructors of the school recently.. so I guess they are adding: UMC Southern Hills St. Rose - Siena I believe they no longer go to De Lima because i believe unlv took over that spot.

Want to contribute another course not to take... DO NOT TAKE "STARTING POINT" its $150...but a total wasssteeeeeeeeeeeeeee why would anyone want to have a teacher over the phone "read" the emails to u when obviously, u can read it urself!!!!!! one in particular, was all over the place... and on top of that...they didnt even show how to tackle the nclex!!! pls use ur money for KAPLAN everyone!!!! i wish i shouldve done this initially but i wasted $150 and 45 days of my life due to starting point oh...and why did they tell me not to use any of the resources but starting point...they made it sound like their information was sooo valuable... but i kid you not......it was NOTHING close to the nclex!!!!!!!!!!

I am going through the same thing right now!!! I do not recommend anyone signing up for a course called Starting Point...it was $150 and a total waste in a way...i spend $350 because i flunked the nclex the first time, which resorted to me spending another $200 to sign up again and i dunno if the lady who runs this program will even give me a refund!!! they do teleconferences and basically just "read off the information from their emails"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and most of it was cardinal signs and not how to tackle each questions...they claim to give some nclex style or similar questions but it was not the case at all!!! i know the difference btwn nclex style because kaplan was the only course that was very similar!!!!

Hey Tom! Maybe u should take the time to read the MANY threads about complaints about the drexel program before regarding highly of the people that teach it........Of course, as a director, your gonna say how great the program is because its money in your pocket... But the majority speaks!!!!!!!

wow...reading this post made me question some things i went through too. my school invited someone who came up with this program called starting point. she claims to have a 100% pass rate and most students go home with 75 questions....supposedly, she even taught this class at brown. anyways...it was $150 for the course and i paid by check. we never signed a contract or anything like that...maybe 6 people signed up for it in my class. she said "do not use any sources except this program". basically, she would email us all this nursing information (diseases, hiv, sample nclex questions) and emphasizes on "cardinal signs" because she says most of the nclex is to watch for cardinal signs. cardinal signs being "elevated esr, palpable lymph nodes for hodgekins"...like, recall questions basically......and the signs and symptoms. on top of that...we did "phone conferences" and basically, she just read off the information on the emails!!!! nothing was ever shown to us on how to break down the questions...no maslows....no priority...nothing. its as if we're supposed to remember all these "valuable" information on these emails and supposedly can pass???? so when i took the nclex...i almost threw up i did not stop at 75 questions like she claimed and on top of that...i dont know where this "cardinal signs" info came from...majority of my questions were drug calcs, select all that apply, priority and medication!!!!! the whole time...i was thinking...."where in the world was the cardinal signs!!!!!" so after failing the nclex...i signed up for kaplan qbanks...did saunders in additon...and i passed with 75 questions. obviously, if i did the kaplan initially...i would have passed coz i thought the nclex was pretty easy after taking the kaplan... so i emailed the lady from starting point for a refund.... she told me that there was a written policy of "no refunds" my thinking is..first of all... we never signed a contract second, we have never seen a "written policy" of no refunds!!!!! so my question is...does she have every right not to give us a refund??? even if her classes did not teach anything to tackle the nclex?? no contracts??? or the fact we have never seen a written policy??? she is telling me about her "written policy" as an excuse....but if i wouldve known that there was a written policy about no refunds...i would never have signed up for it!!!!!!!! why would she bother not telling us, or show us or have us sign to acknowlege this???? kinda funny for a claimed 100% pass rate...4-5 people that took her course flunked the nclex..and yet, many who didnt take her course in my class passed!!!! would appreciate some advice, pls.

VERY VERY well put!! it is true... forget about the stigma...concentrate on YOU and your well being!

i come from a culture that think its crazy for anyone to depend on a pill for mood elevation or decrease anxiety so i was always so embarrassed about taking them.... but to tell u the truth....sometimes, it can be for your benefit. i can finally have restful sleeps when i take meds for anxiety at night and not go to a hospital not being able to concentrate due to a lack of sleep. with some antidepressants, initially...the side effects is sleepiness and grogginess...like, u'll sleep for 12 hrs and wake up STILL feeling hired and wanting to sleep more... but will eventually go away...it can take up to 3 weeks or so for it to wear off...

do u think u can apply for nap positions? usually, the hospital will ask you if you would like to work for them after you graduate since you established repore with them. if not...then persistence is the key... u have to apply for ANY hospital, for any shift and cant be picky with floors either...you can always switch out within 6 mo to a year, i believe...even put ur apps to rehabilitation centers if u have to.. hospitals only hire a certain amt of new grads per yr because new grads r expensive...sometimes, they dont have new grad programs yet coz they r new and prefer to hire someone with a bit of experience (like, San Martin) but there are hospitals that have programs that if u commit a certain amt of yrs to them...they will pay for ur tuition and guarantee u a job...for example, North Vista.
