I know it is early, but I just found out I was accepted! I have to finish two more reqs, which I will do in the fall (i was told they have to be finished by Jan 15) Anyone else find out yet!? What are you expectations, and how will you be paying for the program, and then covering living expenses?
Olive,
You're fortunate that you're hubby's schedule is flexible. My hubs is a police officer with a rotating schedule (days and nights). He is very supportive and I know his heart will support me but I worry if he can maintain the pace of Mr. Mom. My DD is 10 and my DS is 8. My parents and inlaws still work. My siblings are useless for childcare. Perfect storm for drama. With WCU I only have to depend on me, which is how I like it. UMDNJ has some attractive midwifery programs and their Accelerated BSN is the same length as WCU but I would pay out of state tuition. So the cost isn't that different from Drexel. ACE student and Alumni support is unmatched hands down. We know what to expect on exams and such from all those who've done it before. (Thanks NurseTina and Jillyplot!) I can't wait to check out the facilities on 8/13. Drexel seems to have the accelerated bsn down to a science. There's barely a murmur lately on allnurses about any other programs unless I missed something. NurseTina or Jillyplot, what's your Q2 schedule like? How much time are you spending out of class studying? Any late nights with class or clinical? My apologies if this has been answered before.
Nursing school is nothing but late nights studying Lol! Get ready! Not to scare you but it gets crazy. I was physically sick for 6 months out of the year due to nursing school. The professors put alot on you because there is clinical work plus classwork... Clinicals can be morning or afternoon and they may be close or far away from your house... Yes, it is literally crazy!! Lol
Hi megan, I was also accepted into Spring 2014. I'm really looking forward to it. I got my BS from UC DAVIS in California...So I will be moving to Phili In March. I recently finished Computers applications but I will also be taking ethics in Fall. I'm very glad this forum is here. It really helps to meet everyone and share useful information.
Hey Ajaek,
This will also be my second Bachelors and I thought you couldn't qualify for financial aid but Im glad to hear that you can. !2,000 is better than nothing. Did you just apply through FAFSA? or did you actually contact the school and go through some different route? Please let me know I would really appreciate it. Or anything else in terms of best loans to take out etc.
Hey all, I was also accepted for Spring 2014! I'm applying for financial aid this week and feel nervous about everything we have to get done before we start. I know some of the immunizations take months since they're in a series. Has anyone done the HIPPAA training yet? I'm trying to see where I can do that. I deactivated my Facebook awhile ago but I'm planning on making a new one if the group on there is helpful. Good luck to everyone!

Good luck with the fall term. The fall and winter were my toughest because that is where you get your foundation of what it is to be a nurse. 300 is VERYYYYY tough!!!! I barely passed 300 (Adult 1) and 301 (Pharm 1)... 300 is the core, the heart of nursing. On my NCLEX exam, I saw alot of material from that class. My best advice to you is understand Pharm 1 and Adult 1 before you move on because nursing just builds on that. Its tough because you are merging A&P with Nursing and you have to learn, also how to answer nursing questions. Nursing is more than just multiple choice questions. Every answer is CORRECT!!!! Just one answer is more correct than the other. lol let me know how you are doing this fall...
