  1. How is ACE payed for? Do we pay for the program all at once, or 2 quarters at a time? I am just curious because since I am beginning in March 2013, I haven't filed my FASFA for the 2014-2015 school year. But as Ive read most second bachelor's degree students only get about 12,000 dollars, so with that in mind would it be recommended to take out a loan to cover the rest? And which loans would you recommend? Thanks!
  2. Congrats! I just joined the spring 2014 group, just because it is great to make sure I stay on top of everything, there is so much we need to get done!
  3. Hey RobynPSU, where are you finding this calendar!?
  4. Yes, when should we start with all the immunizations?? I paid the deposit a few weeks ago. It seems very overwhelming to complete everything on time.
  5. I received my award letter. I am receiving 0 dollars, absolutely nothing! ugh bummer.
  6. Congrats! Yeah I just got my award letter, bot much help at all. I will also have to be seeking private loans, ugh!
  7. I applied around Feb 2013!
  8. Congrats! I just received my award letter, not much aid at all!!! and I am also taking ethics and computer applications, all online at ccp!
  9. A friends of mine in the programs does what you stated, she works here and there, but doesn't have regularly scheduled hours. She advises against a regular schedule, but said she doesnt feel overwhelmed to work here and there.
  10. I know it is early, but I just found out I was accepted! I have to finish two more reqs, which I will do in the fall (i was told they have to be finished by Jan 15) Anyone else find out yet!? What are you expectations, and how will you be paying for the program, and then covering living expenses?
  11. Hey i Just found out last week I was accepted for the spring 2014, what was your gpa? Mine was a 3.0, but has increased a little with my pre reqs.
  12. Hey! I just got accepted last week in the Drexel ACE program for spring 2014. I have a 3.0 from my previous degree, and have a 3.2 from of all of my pre reqs, this far at least!
  13. Hello!!! I just found out last week that I was accepted to the Drexel ACE program, spring 2014. i know it is pretty far away, but i work full time and am finishing up some last pre reqs. I was/am enrolled to start nursing at La Salle this fall, but Drexel required a few more pre reqs, so I pushed my start date back to the spring in order to give me enough time to finish up Drexel's extra requirements. Once I finished La Salle's pre reqs, Drexel's couple extra ones didn't seem as daunting. I graduated from Temple University with a psychology degree (so I didn't need many sciences!) and shortly after i as searching for a great accelerated program, and discovered La Salle's, which is part time, 2 years, for people with jobs. But after working full time and attending La Salle full time, for the pre reqs, i decided i would much rather focus on school, and school alone, so I just recently applied to Drexel about two months ago! In my acceptance letter to Drexel, they said within two weeks I would be receiving a course evaluation, and a list of remaining courses I need to take (I think I may only need two more, but possibly three. im waiting until I sign up for any more classes.) I decided late in my Temple career that while I loved psychology, I wanted something more hands on a did some research, and discovered the career of psych nursing. I know I could do this with a BSN alone, but since i already have a bachelor's in psychology, what can I do!? I have read that some psych nurses do have a background in psychology, and some nurses have taken the same course I have, a bachelor's in psychology and both nursing, which makes me feel like I didn't waste my whole first degree, which i felt for a while!!! What is your current professional field? I work in the special education field, working at a school for children with special needs. Why Drexel? I have lived in Philly for about 6 years, I love it. Drexel is close, and the program is very, very short. Im ready to start my career. Do you have educational goals beyond your BSN? Not as of yet, maybe in the future, I would EVENTUALLY like to work as a psych nurse practitioner, but who knows how I will feel about that! Are you currently located in the Philadelphia area, or elsewhere? YUP! If accepted to Drexel, how will you be financing your education? It is very expensive, I will hopefully see what type of loans I can get, and will take out private loans to cover the the rest, and to cover living costs.
