Drexel ACE Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey allnurses community! I noticed a group wasn't yet in existence for this cohort, and I was eager to connect with my potential future classmates. The priority deadline for applying to the fall 2017 cohort is October 15th. I received an email that my application status was complete on September 15th. The only thing I need to still finish is to CLEP Human Growth and Development. I plan to take the exam early October, and send my scores to ASAP. I am currently in a BSN program that I started this month, and my expected graduation date is Dec 2018. It is normally a 3 year program, but I entered already having a B.S. (which is not required at my current program) and many of my classes transferred in. I would love to be done with school sooner rather than later, and have always been attracted to the ACE 11 month program (and Philly!). Being that I would graduate fall of 2018 and from a renown program such as Drexel's, would be so great. I am so eager to hear back! After stalking the fall 2016 group, it seemed that the first people heard back at the end of October. I figured it would be easier for all of us applicants to deal with the waiting game together, so please don't hesitate to post if you've applied or plan to apply for this cohort!

Accelerated 17 I feel the same way, I live in Texas but my parents live in New Jersey so I will be commuting 2 hours both ways, I'm hoping i'm not the only who is commuting.

If you are doing 24-month, you should definitely be able to hold down a full-time, or at least part-time, job, some of which will pay part of your tuition.

Hi everyone! I was accepted into the 24 month program. I am still so stuck on if this is the right program for me. It seems so expensive. I'm moving from out of state and would be taking out loans for everything. 2 years in Philly plus the cost of the program, I'm estimating about 100k of debt. For those of you in the program do you think it's worth that much?

Hi everyone I had a random question, it seems that I can't activate my account? Now I haven't paid the deposit but does anyone know if that is the reason why? I haven't paid the deposit because they haven't sent me the Transfer credit Equivalency yet.I'm still taking Mircobiology I'll be done on May 10th and the deadline for the deposit is may 15th.

By the way does anyone have a facebook group started for the Fall 2017 Ace 24 month program?

I'm guessing there are exams every week since its only 10 week quarters. Then like a few days off.

I am looking for apartments now too, i think the earlier we get all our stuff in the better. Atleast this way once the semester starts we are now over stressing.

Hey everyone! I am attending the 11 month program. Is anyone looking for a roommate or housing near . I am coming from New York, so it is going to be a big move for me. If anyone has any suggestions for good areas I should look into that would be greatly appreciated! If anyone is interested in looking at apartments with me please reply to this post or message me!

accelerated17 If you can work while doing the 24 month program try that. I'm in the 11 month program & I definitely do not feel that is worth the debt. I went to a private school previously and I thought Drexel would hold themselves to a higher standard. It's very expensive and there isn't really outstanding support from staff or structure that makes it feel like this program is worth that amount. Also keep in mind that i you don't get tuition insurance you will have to pay tuition in full even if you decided that Drexel isn't for you. It says in the syllabus of every class that your tuition needs to be paid before you come to class so you can see what their priority is...

Just want to give a heads up that even tho says they have clinical sites in Jersey, and other places they really don't put too much consideration into commuting distance when they're assigning clinical sites. We have constantly been told that they don't care how you get there but you have to get there, even in adverse weather. Make sure you put the address you will be commuting from in the "current address" because they say they look at it, but there are people who commute 1-2 hours from Jersey and have had all of their clinicals here in Philly.

Hi everyone, I'm Jill and I'll be attending ACE Fall 2017! :) Posting to see if anyone is looking for roommates? I am married (so my husband and I would rent one of the rooms, and then utilities would be split for however many people are living there) and have a large, lazy grey cat named The Dude. When my husband was in grad school in NYC, we rented a huge apartment with 6 people, and splitting it so many ways made living in Manhattan extremely affordable (I'm talkin like cheaper than when I lived in Florida!) and so it would be nice to have that same type of housing situation for Philly. Let me know if anyone is interested! I got rid of Facebook about a year ago (was too addicted) but I am wondering if I need to get back on it to join the FB group? Advice?

You can start the Hep B shots now because they want them done for school. I've called and emailed AKA stalked to find out if it was okay. You'll get an immunization form from them for the doctor to fill out with dates of the shots! - hope this helps
