Drexel ACE Fall 2016

Published

Hey Everyone,

I noticed there wasn't a thread for this group yet so of course the most simple solution was to make one! Hopefully everyone can share their thoughts, questions and updates here.

Just submitted my application and essay. Now I'm just waiting on completion with transcript processing. Trying to stay calm and ready myself for the wait.

Good Luck Everyone :)

Specializes in Anesthesia.

I submitted my application on 11/9 with all my materials received by 11/16 and have not heard back from them. Hopefully i hear back sometime in January. My degree doesnt confer until March or so when I graduate so I'm not sure if they are waiting for that either.

Just declined my offer. I hope someone on this forum gets my spot! Good luck everyone :)

I just got accepted :D !!!!!! YAYYY!!!!

Hello , I am curious what pre reqs do you need for this program and do they accept pre reqs if you take them online?

Hey what pre reqs do you need? And where did you take your pre reqs at ?

Hey, agwalthney. I listed the prereqs you need below. I'm currently going to CCP for my prereqs and it's a pretty cheap way to do them since I'm a Philly resident. I also added below the CCP courses you can take to fulfill the prereqs (I went to a Drexel ACE info session and was given these equivalencies). And yes, they do accept online courses if you took them at a regionally accredited college of university and fulfill the lab requirement if they are any of the four science prereqs. At the info session, the admissions counselor was very strict on anatomy/physiology/microbiology courses to be have taken within the past 5 years prior to enrollment.

- English (3 credits) - ENGL 101 or 102

- Developmental Psych (3) PSYC 215

- Human nutrition (3) DIET 111

- Statistics (3) ECON 112 or MATH 251

- General Chemistry 1 w/Lab (4) CHEM 110 or CHEM 121

- Anatomy and Physiology I w/Lab (4) BIO 109

- Anatomy and Physiology II w/Lab (4) BIO 110

- Microbiology w/Lab (4)

*3 of the 4 sciences prereqs must be completed at the time of application.

Drexel Ace Prerequisites (Under "Admissions")

Specializes in Med/Surg, orthopedics.

I am currently in the program and about to graduate in a couple months. As long as you have a good work ethic and didn't struggle too much in A&P you should be able to get through the program.

Thank you for your input :) May I ask, how did you pay for the program. I am really struggling trying to find out how I can pay. I only have $40K of Stafford loans available. I used the rest for my 1st undergrad. The program cost +$50K Tuition alone, and what about living cost (housing, transportation, food, books). I live in California, so I will have to make a big move.

How is everyone filling their FAFSA? I am applying to a lot of entry MSN programs so I filled it as 1st year professional rather than 5th/other undergraduate. I am confused on if this would be okay for Drexel, or will I have to switch it by March (when I confirm with Drexel if I will be attending or not).

Hi Everyone!

My application is for some reason still on hold. I have been trying to get in contact with Fran but we keep missing each other.. does anyone else have a hold on there application still? I sent in all the rest of my materials before the new year

Thanks!

I applied well after the priority deadline (Oct 15) on Nov 9th, and saw that I was accepted today through the Discover Drexel Portal! Just wanted to let you all know especially for folks who applied after the deadline. Still waiting on other programs such as University of San Diego, Univ of San Francisco, UC Davis, Samuel Merritt University, Rush University etc. I will keep you updated if my spot opens up.
