Honestly, I loved Micro. And I'm not a "math/science" brain - I lean more towards literature, etc.
I had a great teacher too.
Personally, chemistry was harder for me. Micro makes more sense.
(Fortunately, because I took chem in high school, I didn't have to retake it at the college level).

Wow lucky you! I really dislike Chem and forcing myself to understand it...

I didn't like chemistry in high school but loved my teacher who tried very hard to make it understandable and fun.
My goal at that time was so far removed from being a nurse! I never even considered that until my late 30's and it was a second-career.
My first class back to school was physiology which was hard but interesting and I also had a great teacher for this. Anatomy was my favorite - partly due to the amazing teacher but partly due to my surprise at enjoying the dissection theatre.
Maybe I've just been lucky with teachers in my science and math classes. I had to take Statistics before going back for my BSN and that teacher was also very good.
As mentioned, my strengths do not lie in math/science. But I did well, regardless.
I hope you have a great teacher!
Use rate my professor to get a good instructor. From my experience and what I hear from others in my area, it largely depends on the professor. I have a wonderful instructor who takes the time out to really explain things and quite frankly, her exams are not that difficult. I hear from other students, they failed micro with one teacher but then took another teacher and passed with a good grade. So a good professor is really important imo! That and micro is a lot of info but like with all the sciences, if you study daily and keep up with the lectures and notes, you'll be fine. Even though I have a good grade so far, I found micro to be draining/a pain to study for and thought anatomy/physiology and chemistry was actually easier.
Micro was so much fun. The labs were interesting and who doesn't want to grow colonies of bacteria? I had a great teacher that made the lectures tolerable. I didn't think I would enjoy micro as much as I did. For studying I did the basics; read the book, took notes in class, made flash cards, and looked up quizlets online to help prepare for exams.
I am in Micro this semester and it's been an easy A. BUT this is all due to the Professor I have who has the philosphy that we arent going to be microbiologists, he just wants us to take away the most important concepts to aid us in our future nursing careers. I could see how this class could be a major pain in the rear if someone wanted it to though.

Is it really as bad as everyone makes it out to be? I work full time and have managed these grades so far
Anatomy 1 A, Lab A
Anatomy 2 A, Lab B
Chemistry (Currently taking, I have a B in lab and lecture)
I also take two other courses towards my BSN while taking each science course.
Please let me know how you guys studied for Micro and how it was compared to the other sciences.
