Douglas College Fall 2017 Nursing applicants

Published

Hi everyone, I wanted to start this thread for all the eager Nursing applicants just like myself! :) I have completed my 10 courses in Fall 2015, and have applied once for Winter 2017 but did not get accepted. Now, this will be my second time applying and I cannot wait to apply for the Fall 2017 intake! Anyone else interested in Douglas Nursing program Fall 2017 intake? :)

Alright thanks. I'll book an info session and talk to an advisor. Oh my same here! I am just a semester behind you then. I couldn't take the bio's until winter 2016 and I started at douglas in 2013 as well. Wow I thought I was the only one with this struggle. My brother is in medical school at UBC and I'm pretty sure he's going to finish before I will. I mean this is depressing because I like Douglas way better than langara and the location for me is perfect, but the waiting game is too long... I'm also thinking of schools on the island or interior because I am just getting restless here

Has anyone heard back? I know a friend of mine already heard back about not getting in for this intake.

No haven't heard anything yet on my end, but I over heard a few girls in the cafeteria saying they applied while being in their last semester of the academic foundations course for nursing this term and got their rejection e-mail right away for not having everything completed. Looks like they will be sending e-mails out soon :woot::nailbiting:

Hey Nikola00, I couldn't believe you started at Douglas the same time I was. This is surely a long journey.

I have misread your winter 2016 to fall 2016. Haha, Douglas should use Spring and fall instead like other places of learning. So you have finished yours back in winter 2016, you should get in the next intake for winter 2018, provided that your grades are decent.

I like Douglas for the exact same reason: location. Langara and BCIT are both great but I hate the long drive if I get in. Moving out is too expansive merely for nursing school.

You know, UBC nursing used to do mini interviews just like their med school counterpart with fewer stations. They have changed that to CASPer. At least if you apply to UBC, you wouldn't have to face that kind of pressure.

Hi cmb16! I took my bios at Douglas College. I have pretty much taken all my pre requisites at Douglas College. All finished in fall 2015. :)

Hi merylpasana! When did you friend finish all of her pre requisites? was it in Fall 2015 as well?

Hi, nope she's just finishing her pre reqs this semester. I think she just wanted to try, but I think they're sending out rejection emails for those who have not completed their pre reqs yet. Hope you guys hear back soon :)

if you don't mind sharing, what was your GPA?

Well ladies, as of 4:30p.m. Oct 26, I have received an e-mail saying I am in (as long as I pay the 350 tuition deposit) :woot:.

Who wants to be my group partner :smokin:?

Omg! lucky! and congrats! I'm still waiting for mine! hopefully I'll get good news! :(

Don't worry, Leslie_dhy. I am sure you will get yours soon. Remember, you never had to pay to reapply. Trust me, you are in ;).

Best of luck to all the other applicants. I also got an email at 4:30 pm today!!
